"You think he'll be annoyed?" Michael shivered as we waited for the door to open and embrace the warmth we both craved. Maybe I should've listened and picked up that scarf hanging on the back of the door but the urgency to get food had overridden all common senses.
Shaking my head I glanced up to see his entire face red from the bitter wind that nipped at his skin whilst I focused on the figure appearing through the glass slants in between panels of painted wood. Opening the door I heard mutters on the chill that followed us inside as we eagerly walked past Calum and stood, relieved in the hallway. "Shit you're freezing guys!" Calum placed his hands on our cheeks and the second of warmth burnt my skin as he walked away.
"Well, someone had to get a hot takeaway!" Michael cheered as he lifted the bags of food up into the air.
Tapping his shoulder I shook my head, "The cold takeaway after that journey." I sighed as he walked on towards the kitchen bypassing a worried Ashton as he laid eyes on me.
His whole expression dropped as I could barely feel anything except the desire within me to be warm at last. "I was worried." Placing his hands on the coat I was wearing I wished to feel his touch but through multiple layers he barely dented them. "You were gone so long and the storm just got worse." He held my hand coated in a thin layer of snow and cotton, helping me slowly walk up the stairs.
My shivers died down as I saw our bed, the luxury that is heat circled my mind as he slowly removed my gloves. Turning around to face him he was now on his knees and fiddled with my frozen laces whilst I kept my arms around myself shutting out the cold.
Following my shoes the layers of coats, jackets and cardigans followed until my raw, frosty skin was left on display completely numb. He shook his head as he neared the wardrobe, picking out the thickest and most comfortable jumper of his along with my thermal leggings. Raising my arms the best I could do he slipped it over my head, messing my hair up as he did.
Quietly laughing he pushed my hair back and gave me a quick kiss before moaning about how icy my lips felt. "Come on, the others will be waiting." He fixed my fluffy socks on my feet and slowly I could move my joints with ease, my fingers locked in place yet walking wasn't such a struggle.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs the faint smell of reheated Chinese food made my mouth water as the singing of festive songs filled the hallway. Ashton led me into the living room in front of the fire and placed a blanket around my body, "Just, keep warm here." Kneeling behind me he secured the blanket around my chest and kissed my cheek, then got up and joined in the singing.
"I really can't stay." Luke sang sweetly and I couldn't help but laugh as he walked into the room with bowls of various delightful options for us to eat.
Following him in was Michael who now resembled me in a blanket and sat besides me in front of the fire. "But baby it's cold outside." A deep voice of Ashton came next causing me to laugh lightly as Luke tried to pass him.
"I've got to go away." Dramatically he flipped his hair and batted his eyelashes whilst Ashton held onto his hand.
Luke placed his hand on Ashtons chest whilst Ashton caressed his cheek, "But baby it's cold outside." The little performance continued ending with all of us singing along and Luke being swept off of his feet by Ashton.
"Yep, I need a girlfriend." Luke mumbled as he picked up a drink and joined our growing circle surrounding the food whilst we laughed in response.
