Narrator's POV

In the summer of 1899, the sixteen year old Albus Dumbledore left his home in Godric's Hollow and made his way over to his neighbor, Bathilda Bagshot's home.

The twenty-six year-old woman smiled, as she opened the door to let him in.

"How are you, Albus dear?" Bathilda asked, gesturing to a seat across from herself

"Quite well, thank you." Albus replied, sitting down

"And your siblings?" Bathilda asked, pouring tea

"Ariana is stable and Aberforth is Aberforth, but otherwise well." Albus replied, taking a sip

"Do you remember my Great-Nephew I told you about? Gellert?" Bathilda asked

"Your eldest sister's daughter's son right?" Albus asked, taking a biscuit

"Yes, he's your age —sixteen— and he's in the library." Bathilda said, summoning a house-elf, "Tippy, go get, Gellert please."

Within a few minutes a teenage boy with long, dirty blond hair, brown eyes, and pale skin walked into the room.

"Yes, Aunt Bathilda?" Gellert said

"Gellert, meet my neighbor, Albus Dumbledore." Bathilda said, guestering towards the free chair

"Pleasure to meet you, Albus." Gellert greeted, shaking the other teen's hand

"Likewise." Albus replied

"What is it like Hogwarts, Albus?" Gellert asked

"Good. Very interesting." Albus replied, "How is Durmstrang?"

"I was kicked out, actually. Apparently, I was over eager in some of my classes." Gellert sadly said

"You could go to Hogwarts for your final year." Albus suggested

"Maybe, if they'll take me." Gellert said, "What is the Dark Arts course like at Hogwarts?"

"It has been outlawed since 1717, actually. Anything related to the Dark Arts was outlawed that year." Albus replied

"How unfortunate, Durmstrang offered an exceptional Dark Arts program." Gellert muttered

"Care to tell me about it?" Albus asked

Bathilda smiled, glad that they were getting along, so she stood up, "Well, I'll leave you boys to it."

Several months later, Albus and Gellert had become the very best of friends.

They even had a plan: to hunt down all of the Deathly Hallows and rule the entirety of the world.

But first, they needed to gain the public's trust, so they decided Gellert would be the 'villain' and Albus would be the 'hero' who eventually defeated him.

And he would 'lock' Gellert away, while he was adored by the public and slowly take over.

But in the present, while sitting in a field, Albus and Gellert talked.

"What should I call my followers, Albus?" Gellert asked

"The Hallows is appropriate." Albus suggested

"I'll go with that, it's not like they'll last long." Gellert muttered

"Aberfoth is angry at me for spending all my time with you and not caring for Ariana." Albus informed

"Your brother lives in the now and doesn't understand the road to greatness takes sacrifice." Gellert replied

"True." Albus agreed, "And he lectures me for 'wasting' my time, he is constantly using charms to shag farm animals. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what he's doing right now, actually."

Albus continued to rant about his brother, when suddenly, Gellert kissed him.

After a few moments of shock, Albus kissed back.

They stayed like that for several minutes before they parted for air.

"That was nice." Albus blushed

"ALBUS, WE HAVE TO TALK!" Aberforth Dumbledore shouted, running into the clearing that they were in

"What's wrong, brother?" Albus asked

"YOU HAVE NEGLECTED ARIANA FOR LONG ENOUGH! MOTHER AND FATHER LEFT HER IN YOUR CARE AS THE ELDEST AND YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING!" Aberforth shouted

Ariana suddenly entered the field, "ABERFORTH, STOP THIS!"

"Go away you two, Albus and I were talking. Shoo." Gellert deadpanned

"YOU GO AWAY! ALL OF THIS STARTED WHEN YOU SHOWED UP!" Aberforth shouted

Annoyed, Gellert cast "Crucio" on him, making Aberforth scream in pain.

Once the curse ended, Aberforth got himself up, and pulled out his wand, "Go hide, Ariana, this won't be pretty."

"I'm not going anywhere." Ariana refused, as three-way fighting began between the three males

Gellert and Aberforth threw curses at each other while Albus defended both —as annoyed as he was with his brother, he didn't want him to die.

Tired of this pointless fight, Gellert raised his wand, "AVADA KEDAVRA!"

"NO!" Albus screamed, casting a spell to stop the curse from hitting his brother

And while he was successful in saving his brother, but unfortunately, the curse redirected to hit Ariana —who had refused to hide.

Aberforth looked to his older brother in horror, "ALBUS, HOW COULD YOU!"

Albus froze, "It was an accident."

"YOU'RE FRIEND SURE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GOING TO KILL ME, BUT NO, YOU KILL HELPLESS, ARIANA INSTEAD!" Aberforth screamed

Gellert quickly ran off: if he stayed he'd be forced to serve at least six life sentences in Azkaban since the Unforgivables were strictly outlawed here in England.

Several weeks later, Albus laid in bed, trying to drift to sleep, when suddenly there was a knock on his bedroom window.

He stood up and walked over to it, seeing a familiar figure outside, "Gellert?"

"Open the window." Gellert mouthed and Albus did so

"Sorry I left you high and dry that day, but Aurors would have —well are— hunting me down." Gellert apologized

"It's fine." Albus waved aside, "Why are you here?"

"To begin our plans, of course." Gellert said

Albus smiled, "Well, let's begin. But be quiet, Aberforth is downstairs."

"I'll be as quiet as a mouse." Gellert smiled, kissing Albus...
