(Dayu's POV)
It had been two years. I was gone for two long years.
I couldn't believe that I'm finally here again. Not only am I here, I'm also going to perform, on one of the biggest stage in Mainland China right now; the Kugou Music Awards.
I'm also going to be performing in front of one of the biggest crowd too.
And in front of him as well. I felt the pain churning in the pit of my stomach, the same feeling I had everytime I think of him.
He would no doubt be here because he is one of the biggest star in China right now. He's even nominated for 8 awards. The most nomination tonight.
I could feel my heart hammering through my ribcage. I could feel my whole body turning hotter and hotter by the moment. As I waited for my cue to come to the stage. I am trembling; struggling with a lot of mixed emotions.
I am nervous. I am excited. I am scared. I am elated. I missed performing in front of my home crowd. But I don't relish the thought of performing in front of him.
Yet, I can't let this feeling hinder me anymore. I am done with running away. I had been running for two years.
This is my come back performance. My big day. I'm damned if I screw this over something that had happened and done over with a long time ago.
I am also be carrying a huge responsibility as this is the song, which will indirectly promote the new movie I'm in. My film crew family had given me the honour of promoting this movie on my own Homeland.
I was entrusted with this responsibility. I will not let them down.
Then, the back stage manager signalled that I will be up in five minutes. Time to gear up. I inhaled and exhaled, closed my eyes and opened them again.
Keeping my fingers crossed, I touched the stage floor, praying for strength and good fortune.
Please God. Let me do this right.
I walked into the cage, as the whole auditoriom went pitch black. Then the cage was lifted half way to the ceiling in the middle of the auditoriom.
"Please don't panic everybody. This is not an emergency. We will have one very special, surprise performance tonight." That was Guo Tao gege's voice. "Though I also don't have any idea what it will be. But I was told to read this line..so I did."
Then the music starts and the only spotlight lit was focused on me.
Feng JianYu. Sing for your life. Move your body as if your life depend on it. I chanted to myself. And I did just that.
I blocked everything but the music, my voice and the movement of my body. I sang in the cage; performed a series of dance steps in it.
I opened the stage door; it's a long way down; I vaguely heard the screaming of the crowd; and I threw a rope down to the middle of the stage.
