Present Day
(Dayu's POV)
We were having fun, having a barbeque party at our backyard.
Ma and Baba had met my Chapter 3 family a few times when they visited me in the States.
And Baba communicated well with them, but Ma is a bit reserved, probably because of the language barrier.
Baba is fluent in English while Ma and I, though we could understand English and could use the language to communicate but our pronunciation seemed to be incomprehensible.
Qing once told me that I sounded like I was speaking in Russian, when I tried to speak English. And I hated to admit but he was right.
That was the first thing I took care of when I went to LA. I took an intensive three months English Communication Class.
And by the end of the three months I was able to pronunce English words better, hence speak better and communicate better.
And Ma had the same weakness as me; maybe even a bit worse. So she would rather use sign language with my cast members than speak with them.
But, Ma liked my Chapter 3 family. She knew how they had been taking care of me since the filming up until now, six months after.
So, when I said that I wanted to treat the guys to a barbeque party at home, Ma happy to help with the preparation.
