Wang Manor

(Dayu's POV)

Wang Qing is cooking. He is cooking Beer Chicken and Di San Xian. And we're also barbecuing some meat.

Wang Qing knows what he's doing. He really do know how to cook.

I helped him set up everything at the garden. He's cooking the Di San Xian and the beer chicken on the portable stove he'd brought earlier at the market. I just helped him to move the things he needed from the kitchen, to here. And as he's busy at the stove with his two dishes, I focused on the barbecue.

I watched him cutting the ingredients for the di san xian; some potatoes, some green pepper and some aubergines. Then he fried the potato first, before putting in the aubergines and lastly he put in the green peppers. He fried them, for a while and then he added the ingredients for the taste; vegetable stock, light soy sauce, cooking wine, sugar, salt and some corn starch. He mixed everything up. And I felt my stomach growling when I smell the food he'd just cooked.

Despite the seemingly normal situation; the two of us cooking together, underneath, there had been a very heavy silence hanging between us, ever since we were at the store buying the ingredients for lunch.

It started when I asked him about his girlfriend.

Of course, I fully expected him to have a girlfriend. Wang Qing is the perfect boyfriend material and it seemed impossible for him to be still single with that looks of his and that family background he has.
