The Confusion

Bridgette sits in the sanctuary, nervous and afraid.

Alek steps into the sacruary, eyes to the grass.

Bridgette looks up when she sees him, her fingers that were toying with her small braid stop and she lights up "Alek!"

Alek doesn't move, focusing on his thoughts. "What do you.. what do you want from me?"

"Huh?" Her ears flatten "What do you mean?"

"I need to know why. Why you bother with me... why you confuse me. What do you want from me?" Alek says, unsure of what he entirely wants to hear, unsure of what he wants to say, to feel.

"I-i don't understand...." her ears lower "I confuse you? How? What happened with the king?" Bridgette feels sick in her stomach, and is dreading what might have happened.

"I assume he told me exactly what he told you." Alek looks to her feet. "It got me thinking, I don't know what you are after..."

"I'm not after anything!" She begins feeling hopeless "Alek please you have to believe me! I don't understand what's going on!"

Alek looks up, his eyes clouded. "Then why do you confuse me so much! You act like you don't want me then you ask for me to be there for you! You want my protection, and I want to be able to grant you that, but you've seen me! I'm no match for Timber so why would you bother with me?!"

"Because you're my friend Alek! You're my friend and I'm still getting used to that!" She walks to him briskly "I hardly know what it's like to have a friend! All I want from you is friendship that's it! Why are you bringing this up?! What else could I possibly want?!?!"

Alek wraps his arms around her tightly. "Then why do you make me feel so unworthy?"

Bridgette let's out a breath that she had been holding and she relaxes a bit, yet struggles to breath "I-i don't understand what you mean! Alek you're scaring me!" She shoves away from him, falling back and looking up at him with fear filled eyes.

Alek notices and shakes his head. "I... don't know." He takes a few steps back before hurrying away, his mind confused.

Bridgette watches him. "W-wait!" But he's already gone. Bridgette whimpers and holds her head "What is going on... i... I need kogan." She runs to the castle to find Kogan.

Kogan smiles, holding a necklace of braided ribbon.

"Kogan! Something-" she stops and looks confused "Wait... what's that?"

Kogan looks up and grins. "I was going to surprise you later but, HERE!" He jumps up going to her. "It's a choker necklace just for you!"

"O-oh thank you Kogan but..." she sighs moving her hair out of the way so he can put it on "Something's wrong... Alek and the king are acting weird.... because someone is talking bad about me."

Kogan happily puts it on her. As she spoke, he tightened his lips. "What do you mean weird?"

"The King is accusing me of things and Alek is asking confusing questions... then he left suddenly without an explination! Thank you for the necklace it's lovely." She smiles a bit and strokes it.

Kogan sits on his bed, legs crossed. "Well, why do you think they would act like that?"

Bridgette sits next to him and sighs. "I know why... it's because someone is telling them things about me... twisting the truth..."

"Well we know the truth! We could just tell them ourselves." Kogan leans on a pillow.

Bridgette shakes her head "The king doesn't trust a word I say... and Alek doesn't seem in the mood to talk with me. Maybe you could?" She looks at him hopefully.

Kogan grins widely,"OH REALLY?!"

She jumps and smiles "Haha, yeah if that's okay. Just figure out what's going on..."

Kogan salutes her. "Yes Ma'am!"She giggles "Thank you Kogan... I should head to bed though. I'll talk to you in the morning." She smiles and walks to the cottage.

Kogan puts on a trench coat and detective hat, skipping to Alek's room.
