"Didn't you say Shile was supposed to watch football with his friends?" asked Obi. "Isn't that him entering the club with another -girl?"

Lola came to stand beside her as her eyes darted towards what her friend was talking about. She didn't look surprised, in fact she was solid as a statue. "Let's go get our seats."

"Am I missing some news here?"

"I just want to be normal for this night..." they saw him throw his arm over the curvy lady's shoulder as the bouncers in the entrance stepped aside for them to enter. Obi opened her mouth in shock at the scene unfolding before them. Lola was unreadable that she was second guessing if it was really her Shile they just saw.

"Wives on strike baby!"

"This is not just a movie we are watching right? You are on a strike in your relationship...are you kidding me?"

"Go easy on me girl." Lola sighed frustratingly. "I .... I just want to be L-O-L-A tonight. Nothing more or less." Without another look at the club she pushed a confused Obi towards the cinema.

Obi was getting angry the way her friend was behaving like she was alright while it was the opposite. She used to see Shile as this perfect gentleman who wouldn't hurt a fly but he had hurt not just anybody but her friend and the latter was pretending she was perfectly fine with the whole situation. They grabbed some popcorn, soft drinks and didn't argue when Lola requested for shawarma. At least she was doing something to eat away her pain. Such a therapy.

They look satisfied by the time they left the cinema and it was just about 9pm when they rode back to Obi's house. her friend did not make a move that she was leaving for her own place which obi understood quietly.  She was trying to avoid her boyfriend.

Lola's phone vibrated in the dinning room just as Obi padded into the kitchen to get drinks for both of them from her fridge. As she turned around she noticed something nasty was about to happen when the look in Lola's eyes got clouded...tears gathering slowly. Ah, so much for the 'keeping it together'... obi scowled as she returned the drinks into the fridge replacing them with two big ice cream bowls.
She took her by the hand and led her to sit on one of the stools by the counter placing the ice cream bowl before her. "I can't let you sleep heartbroken if you don't tell me what is happening."

"Shile just broke up with me" she laughed bitterly and waved the device in her face "Over the phone."

Obi wondered how she could manage her emotions so damn well. And she was laughing! "Don't go ment on that asshole"

"I mean he is just a coward. Imagine this shit happening to me. imagine!" Lola turned her phone to her so she could read the content of the message she received.

"He is really sleeping with the whore right now?" she screwed up her face angrily.

Lola sniffed taking a spoonful of her ice cream now. "she was the one you saw with him at the club. The first time she came with him to my place, he introduced her as one of his students. I did not like the energy around her but you know how I think sometimes. He said she was trying to get into the competition of Zipit studio so she was doing this sort of voice training, she dropped by sometimes to check if Shile was in place or not but this afternoon he wasn't answering his phone so I went to his studio to check on him and yes she was doing a solo with him right on the studio floor. I just couldn't stop thinking about the ugly scene that I just turned the wheels here." She sobbed into the her palms like a child.

Obi went over to her pulling her into a tight hug. "shush...shshshsh.. it is okay now. it is better you know now than not knowing at all"

"Smile for me even though you are sad, lie to me if the truth will hurt.... right?" she sang bitterly stuffing her mouth with more ice cream, tears streaming down uncontrollably as she sang one of her favourite simi's song. "Stay with me even if you get some place to be.."

"Lol, that song doesn't even cut to it."

"I know...I know I'm sounding like a broken record right now. I just hate myself you know. I hate myself for loving that shitful sombori. And he broke up with me over the phone with such message? He is just a cheat I don't know after all and I am not going to stop hating him!"

"Go girl! That is the motivation."

Obi watched her finish the two bowls her angry face melting into a sober confusing one now. Lola's words opening a healing wound in her heart. she too was a victim of unknown circumstances. She thought she knew Harrison and he left her with a brink knowledge that she did but when she saw him she realized she did not know him at all. Such is life where you take lust for love and you don't know when the two might actually work against you to break you into pieces.

Obi said to break the reverend silence between them. "Don't give me that look where you blame yourself for his own sins."

"Do I look like I am?"

"I know you won't. I'm just saying it just in case. Go and rest in the bedroom, you know we have to get up tomorrow morning as early as possible."

"I really want karma to be fast on my case this time."

"It will.. I promise." she hugged her again, rubbing her back slowly.

Soon Obi was left alone in the living room crawled up on the sofa with her phone in her hand. She was wondering why Mide haven't called her, not even a text. Was he that very busy that he was starting to forget about her? why was all these suddenly happening since Harry got back and shouldn't her fiancé be around her to give her some mental support? Mide was his formal best friend but stopped being his friend when Harrison walked out of her life. She looked at the ring on her finger but she felt lost like something was missing....she needed to clear Harrison out of her mind totally.

In-between her many beatup thoughts she fell asleep not knowing when the front door opened slightly.
