"Obi kwarthar, get your lazy ass out of bed right now!" her door flung aside and Obi shot up into a sitting position in shock, what could be happening at the moment? She was having her sweet dream which she couldn't remember at that minute because Lola eyes were almost popping into her own.
"You look scary!" she gasped before swatting her friend to one side and threw her head back onto her soft pillows.
"That's the point baby. Now get out of bed. We have many things to do today."
"I wonder why it's either your face or your voice I'm hearing in the morning nowadays." she closed her eyes.
"Who do you expect to see? Father Christmas? Today is Saturday, so my annoying boss which happen to be your fiancé couldn't send me away from the gate. Now up!"
"Sometimes I wonder if we were step-sisters in my previous life. You torment the worse out of me."
"I love you too. Get dressed and meet me downstairs in fifteen minutes. We don't have all day."
Obi opened an eye at her. "What do you mean?"
"Just come down soon, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and to answer your question, I just got the best job position of my life which is, babes, getting you ready to be married." Lola wiggled her brows at her and stuck out a finger at her. "no more questions, because I don't want to pop those happy bubbles yet."
She turned and left leaving Obi confused. She groaned before sitting up. Yesterday was a lot of work for her despite the fact that she didn't do anything stressful. Getting kissed by Harrison was stressful and kissing him back just made her want to stay in her room without seeing him. She crossed her heart never to let it repeat itself again but there seems to be a loop in there telling her she would do the opposite of that. What's there to even sit in her room? He has never been around during the day, why hide? She dragged her feet into the bathroom to enjoy a warm bath. As the water run down her skin she imagined what it would feel like if Mide fall into the trap Harrison was making for him? Definitely she would feel relieved. Maybe she should give this a try, he promised her she won't be alone. She would just agree with him and then state her conditions. She closed her eyes humming lovingly, this was getting more interesting than before. Once Mide get behind the bars, her conditions should be able to put her in a better spotlight.
What if Mide refuse to take the bait?
Her eyes opened immediately. She always imagined a forever with Harrison, though the dream started wearing off when she lost hope on him, but right now, she didn't want to go with what her body was telling her. Yes they kissed but she was the bait too to arrest Mide, she needed to focus.
Drying her body, she pulled on a brown skinny pants and a black sleeveless top. She should go to the salon and she was thinking of making five or six ghana weaving corn rows. Something simple and lovely. She was out of her room, descending the stairs when she heard Sarah and Lola talking loudly from the kitchen. From the corner of her eyes she could see Nick looking straight at the kitchen way, what made her halt to look at him well was how he seems to be holding his breath as he moved like a cat towards the back of the stairs.
"Nick?" she called and he jumped.
"Good morning sister in law." and he used the door behind the stairs to get out. Wait. There is a door there? Obi wondered. And why was he behaving so creepy?
Well, Nick never stopped being Nick.
She was greeted with the smell of bean cakes as she entered into the big kitchen. Lola was seated on a stool, on the island was a bowl of corn pap and God knows the different things she put inside.
