Chance Sutton- School Is Pointless

I walked down the hallway with Amelia towards my locker, Chance was leaning up against it. I went over and kissed him. "Hey beautiful." He said resting his hands on my hips. "Hey baby." I said opening my locker. I topped up my makeup and checked my hair. I closed it again and rested my arms around his neck. "I missed you this weekend." He said softly. Anthony and Jake came bounding down the hallways. They fistbumped Chance whilst I rested my head on his shoulder. I closed my eyes for a second. "Are you tired?" He asked, rubbing his hands up and down my back. "So tired". I replied yawning. The bell for 1st period/lesson went and we headed to English- we all had it together.

Our 'squad' has always been popular- it kinda stemmed from Logan I guess. I knew Jake since we were younger- our families are super close. He introduced me to Chance and we've been together for 2 years now. Jake has been dating my bestfriend Amelia for about a year now and Anthony is dating my other bestfriend Chloe.

We all sat on the back rows and I couldn't concentrate. I really struggle with school. I have the potential, I've been told it, but I really struggle to apply it or to concentrate. I was in a world of my own, trying to focus, but I couldn't. "Y/N." The teacher said sharply. I looked up from my nails to him. "Yes Sir?" I sighed. "Get outside. I won't stand you not participating or rudeness." He snapped. I grabbed my stuff and headed out. I walked to the Headteachers office and plonked myself down. The Assistant Headteacher came over. "Y/N?" She asked sadly. I felt myself tear up and I couldn't hold it back. I sobbed. She comforted me and walked me to the section of the school, which they call 'Support' it's for if you're struggling with school/personal issues. I waited to speak to my favourite teacher- Miss.Brigg. She came out of her office and welcomed me in warmly. She gave me a glass of water. "What's changed since we last spoke?" She asked as I finally calmed down. "I'm worried about letting everyone down. Everyone's been trying to help me. Chance and Anthony tried to get me to do basketball, so I can learn how to focus. It didn't work. I just spent all the time being distracted by everything else around me." I said tearing up again. She held my hand. "Please don't tell him what I'm about to say..." I begged. She nodded. "This is a safe place Y/N, go ahead..." I swallowed the tears. "I know he gets angry, to him it seems like I'm not trying. I am trying so hard Miss, I promise you I am." I cried. She got out of her chair and hugged me. "From knowing Chance and knowing your relationship. He loves you Y/N and would walk over hot coals for you. He knows can you succeed and knows how incredibly talented and intelligent you are. He can't understand why you're struggling, so explain it to him. Teach him. Make him be able to put himself in your shoes. Let him get inside of how you feel." She said. I nodded. "Give it a try, and I'll send a note for you to come back here first lesson and you can tell me what happened okay?" I nodded. "Thanks Miss." I said softly.

I went back and caught the end of Maths. I sat down and Chance looked at me concerned. "Have you been crying baby?" He whispered, rubbing my thigh. "Yeah I went down to Support with Mrs Buckley, I spoke to Miss.Brigg." I explained. The bell rang and I shoved my unopened textbook into my bag. "You okay now?" He asked slipping his hand into mine as we walked out. "Yeah." I said, he kissed me. "I love you." He said rubbing my hand with his thumb. "I love you too."
