Anthony's POV

It was just my luck (no sarcasm intended) that Tommy placed me next to her. She was everything, and I just barely knew her. There was something about her that was so captivating.

My mind thought back to 21 Chump Street. Justin and Naomi. What the Heck I Gotta Do?

What the heck did I have to do to be with Jasmine Cephas Jones?

'Who do I have to be for you to be with me?'

Jas and Daveed had a special friendship. I didn't know what it was about it. They just seemed close. Between him, and her role as Maria, I was a bit jealous, needless to say. I didn't try to be; I just was.

The thing was, Jas also seemed to like me a lot. If anyone was favored, I couldn't tell. I thought it was Daveed. I mean, look at him! If I wanted Jas, who did I have to be?

'Smiley face.'

Ant: Hey Jas?

Jas: You just saw me a few hours ago goof. What's up?

Ant: I was going to ask you something earlier but chickened out?

Jas: Oh?

Ant: Would you want to... maybe go on a date or something?

Ant: We could just go as friends! I don't want to pressure you into anything!

Jas: Calm down Ant, lol. Ofc I'll go!

Ant: Really?

Jas: Yep!

Ant: No way! Yes!

Jas: :)

'Yo, she listens to all my problems,...'

"Is something up, Ant?"

"I guess?"

She laughed that smile-creating laugh of hers, and motioned to the spot on the green room sofa next to her. I sat down.

"What's up?"

"Err... Can I ask you something kinda.. odd?"

"Go for it."

I paused. "How would... How would you describe you and Daveed's friendship?"

Jas laughed again, making my face heat up. "The rate in which I see Daveed as a friend is through the damn roof. You have so many silly little problems, y'know? Not that I care."

I felt my cheeks burn even more. "Okay.."

She giggled again, pressing a quick kiss to my cheek. We weren't even a thing... "Don't worry, I only see you." With that, she stood up, going to where I presumed was her dressing room.

~ the present, Arundel Castle~

'I know there's a reason this isn't luck, it's destiny.'

Destiny, fate, whatever you wanted to call it. But there I was; in front of Arundel Castle, in front of Jas and her family, down on one knee.

I didn't know what I was more nervous about; Jas's own answer or the fact her family was watching every second. All I knew was that I had taken Jas to her favorite castle on Christmas Eve; there had to have been some luck there, right?

Screw luck, I knew it had to be destiny.

"Yes!"

In seconds, I was up and Jas was held in my arms tightly. We pulled apart after a moment so I could slip the shimmering ring on her finger. Her family's applause was background noise as Jas pulled me down into a kiss.

Everything felt surreal, but maybe that was what made love so worth it. Everything was worth it for Jas.

Even now, I didn't know what the heck I did for Jas to end up marrying me, but who was I to wonder now?

if you don't kno Laurex tho... i'm pretty sure you're living under a YT rock bcuz they were like one of the biggest couples on YT (and still are). they were legit so cute together, but I only wish the best for Lauren and Alex

YT power couples aside, best of luck to our Hamilton OTP Janthony. they deserve each other to pieces and I strive for what they have when I'm older XD
