"Hello Millie." Finn smiles brightly at the girl standing on the doorstep, clutching her books against her chest. She smiles softly at him, and he guides her into the house, down the hall, and into his room.

"You can put your stuff on the... on the bed." He scratches the back of his neck, suddenly feeling very self-conscious of his messy room. She does as told, and pulls out some papers. "Okay, so you still need help with algebra, correct?" She asks, flipping through the papers, biting her lip.

He nods, eyes trained upon her gorgeous face. She was so beautiful and she didn't even know. "Y-Yeah. But it's starting to make a bit more sense with you helping me." He shoots her a crooked grin, and she flushes a light pink.

"That's good. Let's review some questions. Your mom told me that you have a math test tomorrow." She locks eyes with him, and he nods, sighing deeply.

"Okay, let's see what you already know. Answer questions 7-15." She hands him a paper, and his brain aches in pain within moments. She watches him sigh, before taking out his pencil and beginning to solve the problems.

"There." Finn says, handing her the paper a few moments later. She quickly checks his paper with the answer key she wrote before coming here.

"Good job. You only missed one." She smiles, and he furrows his eyebrows, leaning closer to her to peer at the paper. "What?" He asks, leaning a mere inches away from her.

Her heart rate increases immediately, and she swallows the lump in her throat. "Uh... number 13. X is 16, not 17." She tucks a strand behind her ear, and his eyes fall upon her wrist.

A black tally mark rests upon it. It was the only mark rested upon her wurst, she had no unrequited marks, no scars, just one black mark.

His heart twitches with an emotion he can't pinpoint. Was it jealousy? No. Why was he jealous? She wasn't his girlfriend.

"And that makes the answer 16." Millie finished what clearly had been a long explanation. "What?" He asks, shaking out of his daze. "Are you okay?" She asks, noticing his dreamy gaze.

"Y-Yeah fine." He looks down at the paper, and quickly erased his old answer, and writing down the answer she had told him. "What's wrong?" She asks, not buying his lame excuse.

"Nothing I'm fine." He mumbles, and hands her the paper again. Her eyes rest upon his wrist. He had a total of 7 marks; 5 were scars, 1 was unrequited, and one was black.

"W-Why are you looking at my marks?" He asks nervously, retracting his arm. She grabs his arm, and studies it closer to her eyes.

"No reason." She sighs, he couldn't be in love with HER. But there was one thing she knew; she felt something different with Finn than with anyone else.

Was it love? She didn't know. She had never been in love. But she felt something special when she was with him.

"So 5 of the people you loved died?" Millie blurts our, immediately widening her eyes realizing what she said. She was such an idiot with socializing.

He nods, holding back the guilty tears. He could cry in front of a girl he had just met 2 days ago. "I didn't even get to meet them..." He lets out a shaky breathe, trying to choke back a sob that was tickling at his throat.

"I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you..." She places a hand awkwardly on his shoulder, comforting the boy she had started to grow strange feelings for. "No... no it's fine." He looks up at her, eyes twinkling with a faint wetness.

"The mark on my wrist... it's my first time being in love." She confesses, staring down at the dark black mark. He nods, allowing her to continue. "I-I don't know who it is, though. There is a guy that I'm developing feelings for, but I'm not in love, right?" She rambles, and Finn bites his lip.

It was as if a hidden beast had awoken inside of him, and was roaring with anger and jealousy. "Who's the guy?" He asks, more bitterly than he expected. Both him and Millie seemed shocked at his tone.

"Just this guy... he wouldn't like me back though." She says, face falling into disappointment.

"Millie. You are an absolute amazing person, and even if I've only know you for a few days, you truly are such a kind, smart, funny, and beautiful person." He grabs her hands, staring into her disappointed eyes.

"I... thanks." She blushes, and he finds himself leaning in. "W-what are you doing?" She breathes, words beginning to fail her.

"Oh. Shit. Right sorry. I um... I don't really know what I'm doing." He sputters, quickly leaning away, assuming she wasn't interested in him the way he found himself into her.

Her gaze lingers on him for a few moments longer than she had wanted, but she just couldn't look away from him so easily.

"I...I should go. Um... I'll see you next lesson, maybe." She rushes to pack her things, carelessly stuffing them into her bag, needing to get out.

She had wanted to kiss him, so badly. But she had realized right then and there that Finn was the one she loved, the person who stole her heart was marked upon her wrist. What made it even worse, or better, she was too confused to understand, was that it was BLACK.

He loved her back, whether he knew it or not. She couldn't be with him, she had no experience in a relationship, and she couldn't trust herself with the heart of an innocent boy.

And with a sharp zip on her bag, she swings it over her shoulder, and rushes out of the house as quickly as possible. Finn stares down at his hands, guilt, hurt, and rejection searing at his throat.

"I'm such an idiot." He whispers, burying his face in his hands as he falls back into his bed, not even bothering to move the math textbooks and papers sprawled on his bed.

Hot tears begin to trickle down his face, and he had never found himself wishing more for a chance to rewind time and undo what he had so stupidly done.
