Millie slowly opens her eyes, groaning as she feels a throbbing pain coming from her forehead. She moves her arm up to rub it, but is restricted by a thick rope wrapped around her upper body.
She furrows her eyes brows, confused as to why she was tied up. She closes her eyes briefly, before the memories start to flow back. She jolts in her seat, realizing she has been kidnapped.
She darts her eyes around the area, searching for any clue, no matter how small, to where she was. All she can see is dark walls, and a grim door across her.
She sighs, and thinks back to the lessons she had on how to get out of a rope tie around her. Stay calm. She reminds herself, as her hands begin to feel sweaty.
She squirms slightly in her chair, trying to wiggle free of the tight rope; but it won't budge.
"It's not going to work." A voice states, the large metal door slamming behind the figure.
She looks up quickly, and notices that it's the same figure as she saw in the alleyway. He steps into the little bit of light that is providing from the tiny window in the upper right corner of the room. His brown eyes search over her, and she gets the strange feeling he is looking through her.
"Miss Brown. You are here to provide us information about Mr. Wolfhard." He states, squatting down to her level.
"Why would I tell you," she pauses, going over his features to confirm her suspicions.
"Sartorious?" She finishes, and he smirks. "So you do know who I am." He says, running a hand through his hair.
"Of course I know who you are. You're the biggest dick on Earth." She relies coldly, but her mind is rushing with fearsome thoughts.
What was he going to do to her? Who was he other person? Was Finn okay? Did they know where she was?
"Now, now. You don't get the right to speak to me like that, do you, princess?" She cringes at his use of the nickname Finn had given her.
"Don't call me that." She mutters, squirming once more in hopes of breaking free.
"Poor Finn. His love of his life is kidnapped, and right under his nose. How would you feel if that happened to you?" He stands, pacing the room slowly as he talks, arms crossed to his chest.
She doesn't reply, lowering her eyes to the cool concrete floor.
"I wouldn't feel very good about that. Should we... inform him?" He looks over his shoulder at her, who keeps her gaze fixated on the floor.
"Why are you doing this?" She asks, voice quivering slightly. She meets his eyes, which hold a angry gaze.
"You don't get it, do you? He stole everything from me. He stole best student, best worker, first place for every school competition, he even stole the one girl I loved. He stole my life, and why shouldn't I return the favor?" He spits ice at the words, a bitter memory ghosting his rock hard eyes.
"Be the better person." She suggests, and he lets out a mirthless laugh.
"And why should I do that? I want revenge, not satisfaction for who I am as a person. If I can destroy his reputation, and his life, I will have fixed it all."
She bites her lip, the words stabbing at her heart. She wished he knew that there was a better way to deal with this. But of course, he was very close-minded, only sticking to what seems most "fair".
"So, with my great pleasure, let us inform your little boy toy of your situation." He smirks, pulling out a computer-like device from his pocket.
***Finn sighs, running a hand through his curly black hair. They had finished the interrogation, and was pleased to find out that nobody was lying for any of the answers.
It was however unfortunate that Shannon Purser, their data administrator, was home sick and couldn't make it to the examination.
He walks to Noah's desk, who it sitting in a worried way; his back straight as his eyes search across every co-worker, and his eyes reflected panic.
"Hey, you okay?" Finn asks, placing a firm hand on Noah's shoulder, who jumps in alarm.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Uh... have you seen Millie?" He asks nervously, his eyes returning to the crowd as he searches.
"No, why?" He asks, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
"It's just... I sent her to deliver some things to him the warehouse but she hasn't returned. I sent her over an hour ago... I can't imagine she's still getting there."
Finn's heart drops at the words. Especially now, it was very dangerous to be alone; what if something happened to her?
Almost as if his thoughts were answered; a screen appears upon the grand wall, causing everyone to turn their attention to the wall.
Jacob stands on the screen, a prideful smirk upon his face.
"What do you want, Sartorious?" Finn asks, frustrated. He didn't know where Millie was, and now he had to put up with Jacob?
"I think I have something that YOU want." He grins evilly, and Finn furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
"What is it?" He asks, and Jacob smirks before stepping to the side, revealing a sight that immediately broke Finn's heart.
There, in a small metal chair, is Millie. Her face is stained with old blood, she had obviously been hit in her face; the blood trickled down the side of her cheek. Her hair hung down, as her eyes held fear, anger, and sadness. Her arms are strained by the ropes, as she squirms in her seat, but the ropes on her feet restrain her from moving far.
"You little fuck." Finn fumes, clenching his fists angrily.
Jacob bitterly laughs, and steps back into the frame, covering Millie. "I sent you an email of the location. Meet me there alone, and you can have your precious princess back."
And with that, the call ends, leaving the co-workers in shock, and Finn in rage.
Nobody messes with his princess.
