this is ACTUAL shit but here we go:

The sweet sound of music in the background of the dance floor swept around the room, crowded with people. It was dimly lit, excluding the colorful dance floor.
The season 3 premiere of Stranger Things was led to the dance room for the after party. The entire cast was there, and that being so gave everyone a warm feeling of welcoming.
Millie was sat at one of the small tables in the corner of the room, exchanging her heels from the red carpet for her boots to dance. Once she finished tying the laces of her right boot, she glanced up to see a familiar figure in front of her.
She met eyes with her best friend, Finn. She gave him a small smile, standing up and placing her heels on the chair she had just rose from.
"Hey Mills." He grinned, running a hand through his curly hair. He looked older than he used to, his face was more mature, but he still had his boyish grin. He wore a black and white striped dress shirt, black dress pants and black shoes to complete the look. His red leather jacket laid on one of the chairs, forgotten after the wave of heat.
"Hi Finn." She smiles, kicking her feet around gently, getting a good feel of the change of shoes.
"May I have this dance?" He asks, playfully bowing to her. Millie lets out a soft giggle, and his heart slightly melted at the sound.
"Of course." She said, and placed her hand in his. She noticed how his hands were slightly sweaty, but she decided against commenting on it. It wasn't bad, or was almost comforting.
Finn led her to the dance floor, which had changed hue from its past green lights to a pleasant blue color.
Slowly the old song faded out of the room as the next one came on. I Melt With You soon filled the room, and Millie softly smiled.
Finn stopped with Millie in the middle of the dance floor, as some other people who were previously dancing vacated the floor after being exhausted.
They started dancing, not to any true rhythm, just dancing because they were here together, and they were going to have fun with it. It included a lot of jumping (and of course, Finn tripping as Millie quickly saved him from falling) and it definitely was messy; but it was their dancing.
"I'll stop the world and melt with you!" Finn yells, as Millie twirled around him, smiles radiating on both of their faces.
Finn then, repeating his actions, tripped over his foot, and Millie grabbed his arm, accidentally pulling him to her.
She flushes, and right then she appreciated the dark lights.
"Sorry." She mumbles, as he shakes his head.
"Nothing to be sorry about." He twirls her for what feels like the hundredth time, but neither care.
And that moment right there was one that Millie knew would be printed in her mind forever. Just her and Finn, dancing shamelessly to a classic song, the other people in the room forgotten. They were getting sweaty, Millie's feet hurt, and Finn felt like his voice might lose itself in the music at any moment; but it was perfect in its special way.
Neither wanted to stop dancing, their hands entangled as they jumped around more, faces inches apart as they sang the lyrics.
So they kept dancing, and dancing, and dancing. Friends, genuinely enjoying each other's company after so long of them being uncomfortable around each other due to fan reactions.
So when Millie looks up at Finn through tired eyes, she saw a boy she had been yearning to be around for a long time. When she saw the twinkle in his soft eyes, the grin settled on his face, and the curls falling on his face, Millie knew right then and there.
She loved Finn Wolfhard.

this isn't exactly romantic but oh well. i'm just glad that they finally are comfortable around each other after people were being so toxic to them 🤧
