- "I'm sorry, we don't have any available table right now... if you don't mind waiting for a bit..." - the young waitress said while looking at the woman that was in front of her.
The small cafeteria, located in the hall of a luxurious shopping center that had just opened its doors, was having a very hard time functioning properly due to the avalanche of customers that, because of the rain, were constantly entering the place with the intention of drinking something hot while taking shelter from the storm.

- "No! I won't wait! " - shouted the middle-aged woman that, with a fur coat and a pearl necklace, was observing the girl as if she were an insect she wanted to get rid of.
The young girl, after a slight inclination of her head, turned around and went to her boss who, from behind the bar, was making signs for her to come closer.
Kongpob sighed.
To his mind came the image of his own mother who, wearing clothes very similar to those of the woman, tended to behave very similarly when she was in front of someone who, according to her, was not his equal.
The young man sighed again as he thought that, possibly, that was the main problem and the reason why he was in that place and not in his office on the top floor of the building.
Kongpob took one last look at his wristwatch to immediately look throught the windows at the street where the shopping center was built.
The main street.
The place where hundreds of people walked throughout the day. Some with tranquility, others with haste.
But all of them would undoubtedly come later or earlier and pass through the revolving doors that gave access to the stores and the other establishments that constituted the last commercial center built in the area and of which the young man was its president.
"Without a doubt, it was a wise choice to choose this street," thought Konpob, while paying particular attention to the numerous children and teenagers who were outside.
The young man took the cup of coffee that was in front of him and raised it to his lips, but he did not taste the dark liquid because a figure had just stopped by his table.
"Finally ..", Kong told himself as he turned towards the young woman who, wearing a sundress and a matching hat, was smiling as she watched him stand up.
- "I am sorry for the delay" - she said with a sweet voice.
Kongpob set the cup down on the saucer and gave her a faint, cold smile that did not reach his eyes.
- "It doesn't matter" - said the young man as he helped the girl sit in the empty seat in front of his own chair - "It has not been that long".
"Only half an hour," Kong told himself as he glanced back at his wristwatch without being noticed.
- "I'm glad to finally meet you" - said the young woman once they had sat down.
- "My parents have told me a lot about you and your family" - said Kong while noticing the discreet makeup that the girl was wearing and her hair that was neatly done.
It was obvious that she was in the shopping centre since several hours before... and didn't appear on time.
But above that, he looked at the brand clothes and accessories of this season that she was wearing.
Kongpob sighed.
It is the same, once again...
When his father had called him only an hour before the date, he had told him once and again that the person this time was not like the others. However, and from what he was seeing, she did not differ in any way from the other young women whom he had already met and rejected.
Why?
Why was not his father able to understand that he did not want any of this?
Is it really that difficult to understand that he wants another type of person as a partner?

Meanwhile, at a table that was on the other side of the place, a dark-haired boy with black eyes as the night, was speaking on the phone with somebody. His expression was clearly indicating that he was not very happy with what he was hearing.
- "No father, not again ..." - said the boy as he got up and, leaving a few coins on the table, started to go towards the door of the establishment - "this time he has not even come, it's a waste of time. Things are not going to change... "
After that, he cut off the communication and went out into the street with an expression of sadness and hopelessness in his beautiful face.
Arthit lifted the collar of his raincoat and prepared himself to withstand the strong wind and rain of that cold winter morning.
However, he cared very little about the bad weather or the fact that he wasn't carrying an umbrella.
He was hurting, badly.
And the worst thing was that he already knew it.
He knew that everything was going to end that way ... but even knowing it, being left like that really hurts.
So much..
His sad and disillusioned eyes watched, without seeing, the people that were running down the street in search of a shelter where they could wait until the weather improved. At least a little.
Arthit smiled sadly.
If only the rain was the only one of his problems ...
But no.
It was not.
And, no doubt, the fact that his father had not finished accepting his reality was only aggravating the situation.
"But no more," promised the young man to himself as he walked down the street and under the rain, "I will never again accept one of my father's requests. I will never trust one of his crazy ideas, ever again ..." .
