THINKING ABOUT YOU

The water began to rise more and more and, unfortunately, the rain seemed that it was not going to stop.

At least for a long time.

Krist, with his last strength, managed to ascend until he was lying on the small mass of earth and rock that was, barely, above the water that was entering through the narrow opening.

"In bad hour I decided to visit the cave," he though as he tried to recover his lost breath.

With a lot of work he pushed his hair out of his eyes and, with his heart in his throat, he looked at the walls and the small bridge that was practically flooded.

- "It's impossible" - he mused with a thin voice - "and even if I did it, where should I go?"

The young man did not know it.

After all it was his first visit to the famous caverns.

His hands closed on a large stone and, using it as a lever, he managed to sit down and contemplate, for the first time, the state of his leg.

It was broken.

But the worst part was not that but, because of the fall, his backpack and all the equipment he had been carrying around had disappeared.

He did not have anything that could help him solve the mess he was into.

Nothing, except his memories and a couple of chocolates that Singto had given him just before leaving with the other group.

With Pim.

The young man sighed sadly.

Not even that had gone as he wanted...

All his plans, his great and ingenious plans, had ended up in the trash because, in the end, he had left with the young actress.

Leaving him once again completely alone.

Krist let out a small chuckle as she remembered Singto's expression when, strangely, the girl had decided to go with them.

"And at the last minute, as always," the young man thought as he picked up a small pebble and threw it into the blue waters that now almost reached his waist.

And, of course...

The young woman had taken his place in the group and him, from being Singto's partner, had been relegated to the second group.

To the advanced group.

Funny, isn't it?...

- "Maybe it's destiny ..." - the young man muttered while letting out a sad smile - "the prince with his princess, and the lackey ... the lackey should simply disappear".

Krist looked down at the water that was already at his chest level.

Yes.

Disappear.

After all, nobody would remember him ...

The young man closed his eyes and leaned back, completely lying down and letting him be at the mercy of the water that was rapidly reaching his throat.

Soon everything would be over.

He just had to let go ... let the darkness take over him and his mind.

- "Sing ..." - murmured the young man as he felt the water begin to enter his mouth.

A tear fell down his cheek.

A few minutes later his face was hidden under the water that, slowly, continued to rise until the small rock and the young man who was on it disappeared from sight.
