A knock on the door echoed through the house while Nina was in the kitchen. She was just finishing frosting a big chocolate cake when Sarah called out that she'd get the door. Nina thanked her and put the last bit of frosting on the top before she felt a wet nose bumping against her.
"Hi Sarge," Nina smiled as she turned around and saw the happy dog in the kitchen. "Want a little treat, boy?"
She kneeled down and held out the spoon with some plain frosting on it, letting the dog lick it off the spoon as his tail wagged. Once all the frosting was gone, Sarge changed courses and started licking Nina's chin, making her giggle and squint her eyes up.
"Hey Nina, lover boy is here. Try not to make out too hardcore in here, remember this is where we eat, " Sarah teased while poking her head in the doorway of the kitchen while Chris walked up behind her, rolling his eyes.
"Chris!" Nina was excited to show him the big chocolate cake on the counter. "Look, I made your favorite!"
Chris went over and quickly swiped his finger through the beautiful frosting, taking a taste and smiling, "Mhmmm."
"That's for after dinner, you dork!" She playfully slapped him with the small rag in her hand and he just laughed.
"I'm just checking to make sure that it's not poisonous," He joked while he wrapped her little frame up in his big arms and kissed her hard.
Nina's arms snaked around his neck and ran up to rub over his soft hair while Chris had his palms flat against the small of her back, pressing her body flush up against his toned chest. Chris massaged his lips against Nina's pink ones until they both were breathless.
"Well Officer Evans, that was a nice hello," Nina laughed while she still was trying to catch her breath.
"You just look so adorable I couldn't help myself," He low voice told her while looking at Nina from under his long eyelashes.
"You think so? I spent so long picking out what to wear. I want to look nice for your mom," She was honest.
Chris moved his hands to her waist and took a step back so that his blue eyes could look her up and down. Her short brown hair hung in loose waves and she had one side tucked behind her ear while the necklace Chris gave her hung around her neck. A white shirt with thin black stripes covered her torso along with a soft light pink cardigan that made her look so warm and perfect for snuggling. The shirt she was wearing was tucked into a pair of dark wash high rise jeans that seemed to hug her in all the right places. They outlined the curve of her hips and showed off her ample behind even though she didn't know it.
"I think you look really pretty, Nina," He honestly told her.
Her cheeks tinted pink from Chris' words before she replied, "You look so cute, I love when you wear a sweater. I also don't know how you look so good in a baseball hat but you do."
"Well the baseball hat was because I slept on my hair weird and it still won't lay down right," Chris snickered while taking his hat off to show her his hair poking in different directions.
Nina giggled while reaching up and ran her hands through his soft hair before leaning in and kissing him softly. The two stayed in the kitchen, swapping kisses back and forth before they eventually had to go. Nina packed up her cake and the two got into Chris' car while Sarge was in the back and he drove them to a very cozy looking home.
He groaned when he parked his car and motioned to the other cars in the driveway, "All my brothers are here."
"I thought you loved your brothers and were pretty close with them," Nina was confused.
