Make It To Me (Chris Evans AU Fic)

Let It Snow*

The front yard of the Evans home looked like something that should be on the front of a Christmas card. Last night a thick blanket of snow had fallen, the first one of the season to be exact, and all of them were in awe when they woke up on the Saturday morning getting to see it. Instantly the kids had run into their parents room, jumping on the bed and begging to play outside.

Nina had insisted they all eat breakfast before everyone got bundled up and ran out to play in the snow. Jack and Logan were trying to throw snowballs at one another while Sarge raced around and tried to intercept them. Chris was helping Ryan roll a ball of snow for the head of a snowman they were building and Nina helped Sophie search for some sticks for his arms and rocks for the eyes.

The lights on the house sparkled as the backdrop to the family enjoying the snow and Nina had to practically drag them inside to eat lunch before they all were back out again. Nina was wildly laughing as Chris had tackled her into the snow after she hit him with snowball and he sprinkled snow on her face, urging her, "Apologize or this snow is going down your shirt!"

"No!" Nina laughed while trying to push the hunky officer off of her.

"Hey Mom," Jack interrupted them as he ran over in the snow. "Can we go over to Tommy's house across the street? He just said we could come over and build a snow fort!"

Chris climbed off of Nina and held his hands out for her, which she took as he pulled her to sit up. Nina brushed some of the snow out of her hair while telling them, "Sure, but come home when it starts to get dark, okay?"

"Okay! We will!" Jack grinned while looking at his siblings and waving them saying, "C'mon guys!"

Before they could all run off, Chris told them to wait and he scooped up his little Sophie, who was convinced she wasn't so little anymore now that she was in Kindergarten. He held her effortlessly with one thick arm while his other adjusted her warm hat and he leaned in to kiss her pink cheeks, causing her to giggle before he said, "If you get too tired or too cold while you're playing, just tell Jack and he'll walk you home, okay peanut?"

"Okay Daddy," She promised while he kissed her cheek again, making her giggle from the prickle of his stubble.

He put her down on her feet, giving her little behind a gentle pat as he told the boys, "Look out for your sister."

"We will Dad! C'mon Soph," Ryan held his hand out for her and Logan took her other hand while they ran across the street with Sarge in tow to play in the neighbors backyard.

The parents couldn't help but swap a few kisses out in the snow but Chris suggested, "Let's go inside, I'll build a fire."

"That sounds good, it's so cold out here!" Nina announced as she hurried up the steps and shook the snow off before Chris helped her off with her thick jacket and they each pulled their boots off before hurrying inside the warm home.

After they got changed into their cozy flannel pants and sweatshirts, Nina got to making some hot coffee as Chris built a warm fire and sat down in the cozy oversized armchair that was nearest to it. It didn't take long for Nina to walk over, handing him a cup of coffee before kissing his cheek.

"Your nose is still cold," He noticed as she kissed him.

"I know, I'm still freezing," Nina said while holding her coffee with one hand so she could hold the other out to him and he wrapped a hand around it, feeling how icy her skin was.

Chris looked up at his wife from where he was sitting and he just felt a little pang in his heart. He adored his Nina in every way but something about moments like this were times he just treasured. She looked so cute in her flannel pajama pants and oversized sweatshirt he was pretty sure was his at one point. Bits of snow were still in her short hair that she had tucked behind her ears and an easy smile was on her lips. He couldn't help but feel turned on by seeing his wife as he was reminded he was the only one who got to have her and his deep adoration for her seemed to go straight to his manhood that was rapidly growing.
