"What?" Nina saw the way Chris was staring at her from over the top of his menu. "Why are you looking at me so weird?"

A wide smile spread across Chris' stubbled face before he put his menu down and mused, "I just can't believe that it's been ten years since I watched you walking down the aisle in your wedding dress to come marry me."

"So much has changed," She thought back to what her life was like before they were married but then added, "So much has stayed the same though too."

"Well I'm starting to get a few grey hairs and wrinkles that certainly weren't there on our wedding day," He chuckled, leaning his muscular arms on the table.

Nina just laughed softly as she tucked some hair behind one of her ears and added, "Well having the kids has sure has made me keep some weight on my hips that wasn't there before."

"Mhmm but I like that," Chris smirked, reaching under the table and giving her thigh a squeeze, wanting to remind her how much he loved the curve of her hips and her round ample behind. When he brought his hand back, he rested his elbow on the table and propped his chin up with his fist, gazing at his wife while he told her, "You're so beautiful."

A warm blush filled her cheeks, and Nina tucked some of her short brown hair behind her ear while she ducked her head. When her caramel eyes lifted back up to meet Chris' ocean blue ones, her pink lips parted into a sweet smile. This weekend they were celebrating their ten year wedding anniversary and Nina had gotten Chris a gift and planned on making him his favorite meal at home but he had much different plans.

He had a morning shift, so Chris was home early in the afternoon that Friday and when school was ending, he took Sophie and told his wife that he would go pick the kids up from school. Nina was secretly thankful for this, giving her time to wrap the present she was going to give Chris and she had just finished hiding it underneath their bed when the door opened.

Nina trotted back down the stairs, ready to barroge her family in a round of hugs and kisses after their school day but quickly became confused when she saw Chris... but the kids were nowhere to be found. With a giant smile on his face, he told her that he had gotten Sarah and Jake to watch the kids and he was taking her to stay at a beautiful hotel for their anniversary weekend.

That's how they ended up that evening, dressed nicely, at a fancy restaurant while the reminisced about their unconditional love for one another. Nina felt tears brimming in her eyes as she tenderly told him, "I love you Chris. Thank you for planning all of this."

"I love you too, Nina," He reached across the table to hold her hand, bringing it up to his mouth to kiss her knuckles gently. "These past ten years being married have been the best of my life."

"Mine too," She was honest before Nina recalled, "I still remember the first time I ever saw you, Jake and Sarge walk into the coffee shop. I thought you were so insanely handsome and I remember feeling so nervous and excited every single time you would walk inside."

Chris leaned back in his chair, running his hands over his black tie while his eyes squinted up in laughter, "I remember knowing that you were the sweetest woman ever because you'd listen to Jake's stupid jokes every morning with a smile on your face."

Nina's lips, covered in her red lipstick, opened as she let out her heart warming giggle before making a face at Chris and cringed, "Those jokes were terrible!"

"Think about me! I got to hear those jokes every single shift with Jake... hell, I still have to hear them on our shifts!" Chris playfully tossed his hands up in the air, making Nina laugh harder.

The two went over some of their favorite cheesy jokes he told until the waiter came back to take their order. The couple spent the entire meal reminiscing about their wedding but it wasn't until Chris was leaning to the side in his chair, digging out his wallet to get his credit card to pay for the meal that Nina felt her heart swell, telling him, "I still remember when I fell in love with you."
