"Hey Nina?"

"Yeah?" She asked, coming over next to where he was laying in the chair in the middle of the office.

Chris turned his head, looking to make sure there wasn't anyone else in the room before he told his wife, "I'm a little nervous."

This was something the kind hearted woman never really heard out of Chris' mouth and it instantly sent her into comforting mode. She sat on the edge of the chair, holding one of his hands in her lap while the other rubbed his chest over his soft tee shirt, cooing, "Oh sweetheart! It's going to be just fine."

"I know it's kind of stupid," He chuckled. "I mean, I had surgery so they could pull a bullet out of my side but now I'm freaked out to get my wisdom teeth out."

"Yeah but I see how it's different. Your surgery before you were already out of consciousness where as this you're awake as they put you out," Nina validated his feelings. "But don't worry, it's no big deal. I had mine out as a teenager and you just start to feel sleepy and suddenly you're done!"

At that moment, the anesthesiologist came into the room so Nina just pressed a sweet quick kiss to his cheek telling him, "I'll be right here when you wake up."

He gave her hand a squeeze and sent her a soft smile before Nina went out to the waiting room. She had gotten a good chunk of the way into the book she brought when a woman came out to stand in front of her and said, "Mrs. Evans?"

"Yes?"

"Your husband is all done, everything went great," The woman explained before adding, "We had to end up giving him a little extra anesthesia though to put him out so he's going to be pretty out of it."

Nina just nodded before following her back to where Chris was already sitting in a wheelchair and she signed a few papers before they could go. She started pushing the wheelchair but used a hand to rest on his shoulder and said, "Sweetheart, I'm going to take you home, okay?"

"You're going to take me home?" His voice was groggy and muffled by the cotton in his mouth. "You're pretty, I want to go home with you."

Nina just snickered while he slumped in the wheelchair and kept on babbling about random things he saw as she pushed him out to the car. She opened the passenger door before putting her hands on the armrests of the wheelchair and said, "Chris, baby, I'm going to help you up into the car but I'm going to need your help. You've got to stand up, okay?"

"Aye aye captain," Chris saluted, only causing Nina to just keep laughing before she wrapped her arms around his waist and helped him up and into the passenger seat.

"Hey, hey, you shouldn't call me baby," Chris mumbled while she reached over him to buckle his seat belt. "I might go falling in love with you then. You're just so pretty."

"Wow that nurse wasn't kidding when she said you were going to be out of it," The sweet wife tucked her short caramel waves behind her ear.

Chris started humming a tune, so Nina closed the door and got into the drivers seat, heading toward their cozy home. Chris was flopped in the passenger seat while he looked all around but then caught sight of his hand, seeing the band on his left hand and he shouted, "Holy shit! I'm married?"

"Yes you are," Was Nina's response as they pulled up to a stoplight.

"To who? Where is she?" Chris looked around with confusion on his face.

"You're married to me."

His blue eyes grew wide as he asked with his mouth full of cotton, "To you? Damn! I did good!"

"Well I didn't do too bad either," Nina giggled while she reached over and rubbed a hand along his leg.

"You're gorgeous," Chris mused while staring at her. "I'm really married to you?"

She nodded with a smile before he kept going on, "Do we have any kids?"

"Working on our first right now," Nina put a hand on the bump that was showing under her shirt.

"Wow," He laid his head against the seat while staring at his ring while his brain kept working, "I can't believe I'm married to you. This is great."

She just laughed as he kept babbling on, "Are we having a boy or a girl?"

"It's a boy," Nina informed him.

"That's so great. I can't wait to have a baby," His voice was muffled through the gauze. Chris tilted his head as he started at Nina for a long time as they drove, his brain groggily working before he figured out, "So we're really married? So like... I can kiss you?"

This is when Nina couldn't help but lose it and she burst out laughing as she drove down the road. Chris was not at all aware that she was laughing at his words but she did eventually answer him.

"Once your mouth heals up, you can kiss me all you want."
