Loud squealing and shouting echoed through the house as Ryan and Sophie ran and jumped on their father who was laying on the couch. He let out an 'Ooof' when the giggling children landed on him but quickly threw his thick arms around his two youngest children and pulled them down with a playful grunt and started attacking their face with kisses and stawberries on their cheeks, only causing them to shout and squeal more.

"MOM! SAVE US!" Ryan yelled as he flailed and Sophie squealed.

Nina tucked her short wavy hair behind her ears and nudged Logan, who was always up for some hijinx, and whispered in his ear what to do. The thirteen year old nodded and ran to pin down Chris' feet and Nina started tickling them which made Chris squirm and laugh loudly.

Jack chuckled at his family from his spot at the table where he did homework, but burst into loud laughter as he watched his mother peel of his dad's socks and tickle him even more which made Chris shout, "Unfair Nina!"

"Totally fair!" She giggled right back before looking at the german shepherd who was sitting by her feet and told him, "Here! Up here Sargey! Lay on Chris and pin him down!"

"No!" Chris playfully yelled through his laughter but kept tickling the two children he had locked in his arms.

Chris finally ripped his feet away from the relentless tickles and this gave him the upper hand. He sat up and tucked his feet underneath him while still holding the squealing youngest children against his chest and said to Logan and Nina, "They're my hostages now!"

Nina opened her mouth to reply but got interrupted by a knock at the door. She told Logan to help free his siblings while she went to pull the door open. She was met with a big bouquet of flowers and a smiling face that said, "Hi, I have a delivery for a Nina Evans?"

"That's me," She smiled widely.

He handed her the flowers and she thanked him before closing the door and taking a long sniff of the gorgeous bouquet. She felt her heart swell at the thoughtfulness of her husband and went straight for the kitchen to get them in water.

Right as she was arranging them in the glass vase, she felt a pair of warm hands rest on her hips and a sweet kiss get pressed to her neck before Chris asked, "Who was at the door?"

"You know who," Nina beamed from ear to ear as she spun around and showed him the flowers. "This was so thoughtful Chris, thank you so much sweetheart. I love them so much."

She quickly put a hand on the back of his neck and gave him a deep kiss, wanting to convey how touched she was but when Nina pulled away, she saw the confusion written all over his face. His eyebrows were knitted together and he told her, "Nina... I didn't get those for you."

Nina tilted her head and studied his face before asking, "...You didn't?"

"No."

The couple stared at each other for a long moment, both confused before jealousy settled inside of Chris. His jaw clenched while he started digging through the flowers to look for a card. He was going to deal with the asshole who was hitting on his wife and he wanted to know who it was right this minute.

"There's no damn card," Chris grunted when he couldn't find the piece of paper. "Who are they from?"

Nina's sweet and innocent eyes looked up at Chris while she shrugged, "I have no idea... I thought they were from you."

Instantly Chris started pacing in the room and it was obvious he was upset. His sharp jawline was clenched and the vein in his neck flexed. Chris' brown eyebrows were angled down as he scowled and his hands curled into fists while he walked back and forth muttering, "I bet it was Andy. He's always making eyes at you when you come into the station."

Nina put the flowers on the counter and let him keep on rambling, "Or Dylan... he always comments on how lucky I am and says he wishes he had a girl like you. I bet it was him. NO! It was probably fucking Tim who flirts with you. Man, I want to pound that guy. Nobody hits on my wife!"

As Nina leaned up against the counter in the small kitchen and watched him, she couldn't help but think it was kind of adorable when Chris got jealous. He was such a kind and gentle man, but the second another man looked her up and down, all bets were off. She didn't want him to get himself all worked up though and walked over to stand in front of him and stop him from pacing.

"Honey," She sweetly cooed, resting her hands on his stubbled cheeks. "It doesn't matter. Don't drive yourself crazy trying to figure out who."

"I want to figure out who so I can kick their ass," He muttered, half joking but half not. It still made Nina laugh softly he added, "What kind of an asshole sends flowers to another man's wife!"

"Hey, stop. The last part of what you said is exactly right... another man's wife. I'm your wife Chris. I love you and I always will, some random guy sending me flowers doesn't make any difference to me," Nina looked right up into his blue eyes and assured him.

Hearing his wife's gentle voice and seeing her sweet face looking up to his made Chris come back to the rational part of his brain. He nodded while pulling Nina tightly up against his chest and he nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck and mumbled against her skin, "You always know what to say to make me feel better."

"I'm just telling the truth. I adore you Chris. No man other than you has ever been able, or would ever be able to turn my head," She rubbed her hands on his back. "Although I do have to say... it's pretty cute when you get all jealous."

Chris chuckled against her skin and pressed a few sweet kisses on her skin before planting a long kiss on her lips. Once they parted, he went to the fridge to get himself a glass of water while Nina got to work putting some of the dishes away. As she looked at the flowers on the counter, she just had to tease her husband by saying, "You know... I do kind of hope they're from Andy... he's awfully cute."

Hearing this made Chris whip around with a bewildered look on his face but when he saw Nina trying to hold in her giggles, he knew she just was kidding. A smirk crawled across his face while he came over and gave her behind a swift smack, making her laugh before he locked his arms around her and playfully jostled her around gently, "Andy, huh? You're gonna dump me for Andy? I can get you way bigger flowers than those!"

Nina just giggled as Chris tickled at her side but while she was squealing, Jack came into the kitchen and his eyes instantly went to the flowers. He turned his head and called out, "Logan! C'mere! The flowers for mom are here!"

Chris had been focused on joking with his wife but his son's words caught in his ears. He let go of Nina and turned around to see Jack standing there while Logan trotted in shortly after and the father asked, "Wait... what do you guys know about these flowers?"

"We combined our money and got them for mom for her birthday," Jack revealed.

"Yeah but when we ordered them online, Jack hit the wrong button so they got delivered a day early," Logan playfully nudged his brother while ratting him out. "So even though it's a day early, happy birthday Mom!"

Instantly tears welled in Nina's eyes from the thoughtfulness of her boys and she raced over to them, hugging them each close to her while kissing their cheeks, since now they both were taller than her and she couldn't kiss the top of their heads anymore. The boys still loved the affection from their doting mother and let her fawn all over them, secretly adoring the attention from her, just the way Chris did. She kept kissing them and squeezing them tight, gushing over their thoughtfulness and how gorgeous the flowers were.

It wasn't until she had finished doting on them and they had left the kitchen that Nina turned to her husband, who wore a proud smile on his face, and said, "Still jealous?"

"Nah," He chuckled, coming over to pull her into his arms. "But I do have to say.... those are the only boys I'll share you with."
