"Aw honey look at this picture Sarah sent me or Logan," Nina cooed, leaning in closer to Chris as they sat on the bench seat at the back of the school bus. She showed him her phone that had the picture of their almost one year old with food all over his face after eating. "Look how cute he is! Do you think he's doing okay?"

"I'm sure he's just fine. Your sister will take good care of him," Chris assured his wife.

Nina nodded as she slipped her phone back in her pocket, "You're right. Besides, I'm glad we both get to go on Jack's field trip today."

"Me too, I'm glad I get to be part of it," Chris nodded as he looked around the school bus full of preschoolers.

"Nobody will step out of line today with Officer Evans here," Nina joked, looking up at him.

The hunky man chuckled just as the bus pulled into the zoo and the happy children all cheered. The teacher led the students off the bus while the Evans helped get the last off the kids off. The group started moving through the zoo, crowding around their teacher as she taught them about each of the animals.

The Evans parents thought it was so cute watching all the wide eyed children with their noses pressed against the glass to watch each animal, squealing and laughing as they gazed at the animals movements.

After making it through a number of exhibits, they stopped for a snack on a grassy hill but as they were making sure all the children were sitting down and helping open snacks, Nina heard Jack calling out, "Mommy!"

"Yeah sweetie?" She asked, turning around to look at him.

Jack showed his mother the other little boy standing next to him who was holding his knee with one hand and rubbing his watery eyes with the other as Jack told her, "Mommy, my friend fell and scraped his knee but it's okay because I told him you'd make it all better."

"Oh honey," Nina cooed while kneeling down in the grass and looking at the little boy.

Chris was close by, helping a few of the little children get the straws in their juice boxes but his blue eyes wandered over to watch as his sweet wife take care of the chubby cheeked little boy who was trying hard to hold in his tears.

Nina had the little boy sit on the grass and softly asked, "Is it alright if I take a look, sweetheart?"

The watery eyed boy nodded and took his hand off of his leg, letting Nina see and she told him, "Oh it's just a little scrape, don't even worry. But I have an important question for you... who's your favorite superhero?"

Chris smiled widely at his wife, seeing her ability to make the sad boy's face light up as she dug out her package of superhero bandaids from her purse and showed him, telling him, "He's my favorite too," When he chose Captain America.

"Daddy, can I have a snack?" Jack broke Chris out of his thoughts.

"Of course bud," Chris finished helping the last few kids before sitting next to Jack and giving him the bag of snacks Nina had packed.

Their little blue eyed son started munching while informing his father, "I knew Mommy could make Henry feel better."

The handsome police officer let his bright white smile shine as Nina walked over to sit by her family and Chris nudged his son and said loud enough that Nina could hear, "Yeah Mommy can make everyone feel better, huh?" Nina just looked over at her husband, giving him a smile that warmed his heart.

The sweet teacher let all of the students finish their snacks before she came to stand in front of everyone, putting her purse down behind her as she told the wide eyed preschool students about all the other animals they'd see. As she was doing this, they saw a man walk up behind and quickly snatch her purse.

Seeing this made Chris spring into action, running down the hill and chasing after the thief. It didn't take the fit officer long to catch up with and tackle him to the ground and informed him, "Seattle PD, you're under arrest."

Chris got the man's hands behind his back, putting his knee on top of them while pinning his shoulders to the ground and told Nina to call the police. The teacher and Nina kept all the kids together and safe on the hill while Chris kept the man pinned until the officers came and cuffed the man and took him away.

Once he was gone, Chris brushed the dirt off his straight legged jeans before walking back over to the group and handed the teacher her purse. He didn't realize all the eyes of the preschoolers were on him in awe until Jack beamed with pride and informed everyone,

"That's my dad!"
