"Eight.... Nine... Ten! Okay, ready or not, here I come!" Chris' low voice rumbled as he turned around from the wall and started walking through the house. The day at work had been a particularly long one for the Sargent who had to apprehend a few rowdy criminals today but all of that faded away when he walked through the door of his home and he just felt pure happiness wash over him.

The kids had instantly run up to him, shouting "Daddy! Daddy!" and wanted to get hugs from him before they quickly asked him to play with all of them. Chris promised he would, but first had to take his gun belt and shoes off and needed to find their mother before he could do anything else.

Chris had found her in the kitchen and Nina beamed at him when he walked in, showing off the chocolate cake she had just finished frosting and exclaimed, "Ta-da! Perfect timing, love. I just finished your favorite cake."

"I looks delicious," He said while he crossed the floor and snaked his thick arms around her waist, holding her tight while kissing along her neck, "But not nearly as delicious as you."

"Chris!" She couldn't help but giggle while he nipped along her soft skin.

Nina loved feeling his lips along her neck but she had to pull away enough so that she could press her lips to his, needing to feel his kiss since she had gone all day without it. When Nina pulled away, she looked up into Chris' clear blue eyes but wrinkled her forehead while resting a hand on his stubbled cheek, "Is everything alright?"

The statement almost made Chris laugh. He didn't even have to say a word for Nina to be able to read him like a book and he told her, "Yeah, just a long day, which makes coming home that much better."

"Why don't you go sit on the couch and relax and I'll bring you a piece of cake?" Nina cooed as she ran a hand through his dark hair, wanting to take care of her hard working husband.

Chris smiled while shaking his head, "You'll have to save the cake for later. I have a date to play hide and seek."

"Yeah, dad's playing with us!" Logan announced as he ran into the kitchen with the other kids hot on his tail.

"Momma, will you hide with me?" Sophie slipped her hand into Nina's while the adoring mother kissed her cheek and told her she would, which now led to Chris tromping through the house still in his navy blue uniform while Sarge trotted along with him.

Chris saw the curtain moving and playfully wondered out loud, "Hmmm... I wonder where Jack is.... I bet he's.... BEHIND THE CURTAIN!" He shouted while whipping the curtain back, making their eldest son laugh.

"Okay, now I have to help you find everyone else," Jack said before he patted the dog's head, "Sargey, where do you think they are?"

The trio wandered around the house, collecting Logan and Ryan along the way but they still were searching for where Nina was hiding with Sophie. They had found a place tucked underneath Chris' hanging clothes in the closet but while they were waiting to be found, the little grey cat had wandered in and found them.

The kitten had been part of their family for the past six months and for the first few days the kids all argued over what it's name should be but the loving brothers eventually decided to let Sophie name him. Instantly the little girl decided on Fluffy and the cat proved to be just as loving and affectionate as all of the Evans were, which proved to be a disadvantage when it wandered into the closet and started meowing, alerting everyone to their whereabouts.

"FOUND YOU!" Ryan shouted while pushing the clothes back and revealing his mother and sister.

"Aww Fluffy gave us away!" Sophie said while crawling out from the spot.
