Chris couldn't help but wince as his wife squeezed his hand so hard pain rippled through it, but he wasn't about to say a word. His pain was nothing compared to what Nina was going through right now. He just let her squeeze one of his big hands while the other stroked her hair and kept encouraging her, "You're going great, sweetheart. You're almost there. You can do it."

All Nina did was gasp, tossing her head back onto the pillow and squeezing his hand one more time as she gave a final push and they both heard the cries of a newborn baby. Chris didn't pay attention to the doctor and nurses, letting them do their thing while he kissed Nina's sweaty forehead.

"You did so great sweetheart," He praised her while she caught her breath but still managed to look up at him and smile.

"Alright, you ready to hold your daughter?" The nurse asked, bringing a little bundle over.

Since both Chris and Nina had decided this would be their last baby, they chose not to find out the gender, wanting to be surprised. For some reason though, both of them kind of thought it might be a boy so to hear the word daughter made Chris frozen in place.

"Daughter? It's... it's a girl?" Chris asked.

"Yes it is," The nurse handed the tiny baby.

Chris held her securely in his big arms, only making the baby look even smaller. He used one hand to push the blankets away from her face and instantly tears filled his eyes. Chris brushed his finger on her cheek as he rocked her and got her to stop crying and she settled down in his arms.

"Hi sweetie, I'm your dad," Tears now were flowing down Chris' cheeks with ease. "Happy birthday my little love. You're so beautiful."

Nina still was catching her breath as she watched Chris. Her own tears were rolling down her cheeks as she watched Chris hold their daughter up and he pressed his face against hers gently, closing his weepy eyes as he just breathed in her smell and cradled her tightly.

"Nina," His voice finally spoke as he walked over to the bed. "We... have a daughter."

"I can't believe it," She smiled through her tears as he sat down on the bed and handed the baby to Nina so she could hold her to her chest and kissed the top of her head covered in a few soft dark hairs. "What are we going to name her? We didn't really think up girl names."

Chris snuggled in close to his girls, looking down at the little bundle who now had opened her eyes, showing off dark brown ones that mirrored Nina's and making Chris' heart practically ache from love. He thought about it for a moment before saying, "I've always thought Sophie is a cute name."

"Sophie it is," Nina beamed, holding the sweet baby tight to her. "Want to bring the boys in to meet her."

Chris couldn't help but kiss both of his girls before getting up to go out of the room and get the boys from his mother and bring them in saying, "Come meet your sister, Sophie."

"Sister? I'm glad we have a sister, we got enough brothers," Logan said, making the parents laugh while he quickly crawled up on the bed and snuggled up to Nina so he could look at the baby.

"She's little," Ryan, quiet but always observant, said while Chris sat next to Nina and held Ryan in his lap.

Jack was the last to climb up, being careful not to disturb the baby but looked at her saying, "I love her!" His blue eyes that mirrored Chris' then look up before the ever the protective eldest brother, quickly announced. "Don't worry dad, we'll help take care of Sophie."

Not wanting to be outshined by his brother, Logan piped in and said, "Yeah yeah, we'll even tell her the secret password to our blanket fort we built in Jack's room!"

"I'll play with her," Ryan sweetly offered.

Chris ruffled up Ryan's hair before kissing his head saying, "Sophie doesn't know it yet, but she has the best brothers ever."

"That's for sure," Nina looked at each of their boys.

The nurse soon came back into the room so Chris took the boys out while they helped Nina get cleaned up and took the baby for a few check ups but soon little Sophie was back in the arms of her mother while Chris laid in the bed with his arms around both of them.

"I actually have a confession to make," Chris' low voice began.

Nina turned her head, resting it on his broad shoulder as she looked up into his blue eyes and asked him, "What?"

He was quiet for a moment, just looking at his wife before saying, "I was secretly kind of hoping for a girl."

"Were you really?" Nina wondered.

"Yeah," Chris nodded, resting one of his hands on their tiny sleeping baby. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I adore our boys so much and I would have been thrilled to have another boy but I just..."

"What is it, honey," She gently prodded him the way that always made him melt and open his heart right up to her.

Chris pressed his cheek against hers while he said, "I just wanted a little girl like you."
