"If they don't make a sequel to that movie, I'm going to be so upset!" Nina laughed as the pair walked out of the theater.
"It was so good," Chris agreed, helping her slip on her jacket before wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling his wife into his side. "Especially the ending, that was so emotional."
"Don't even talk about it or I'm going to cry again," She laughed as they walked along the sidewalk.
As they were heading to their car, Chris saw a bar and asked Nina if she wanted to grab a quick drink before heading home. She agreed and the pair went in, finding two stools at the bar and ordering their drinks.
The pair fell into deep conversation as they always did, gazing dreamily into each others eyes until eventually when they were about halfway through their drinks, Chris excused himself to the bathroom. He wasn't gone long, but by the time he was walking back to his spot, he saw a good looking man occupying it.
He had his elbow resting on the bar as he leaned in toward Nina, obviously trying to hit on her and Chris chuckled to himself. He wasn't at all surprised how often men hit on her, she was beautiful and charming and she practically oozed kindness. Chris thought that any man would practically have to be an idiot not to hit on her. He thought it was so cute how Nina always looked so surprised and then would say in her sweet and polite tone that she was married.
It never bothered him when other men it on her because he was secure in their relationship and Nina always would just kindly turn them down with that sweet smile of hers. Chris watched as he walked up behind Nina and saw her hold up her left hand, showing the man her wedding ring which normally made people back off, but not this one.
Nina was wearing one of her soft cream dresses and the way she was sitting on the stool with her legs crossed, made the dress fall around her mid thighs. He saw as the man kept pressing her before he reached down and ran a hand along her bare thigh and Nina reached out to push him away but he overpowered her and kept his hand where it was.
Seeing this unwanted advance made Chris' protective instincts and anger flare up and in two seconds flat, he was across the bar and had his big hand on the man's arm, squeezing it tight while he glared at the man and said in a low voice, "Don't you fucking touch my wife."
Chris' blue eyes burned at the stranger for a long moment before giving his arm a shove. He then quickly pulled some cash from his wallet to put on the bar before he wrapped an arm around Nina and led her out of the bar. The moment they were out in the night air, Chris turned to look at Nina and put both hands on either side of her face.
"Are you alright sweetheart?" Chris' tone returned to it's gentle state and his eyes were once again filled with kindness.
"Yeah I'm fine," She softly smiled at him, leaning up to peck at his lips. "Thank you for doing that, Chris."
He kept his hands on her face so he could kiss her deeply before he adjusted her coat, making sure she was warm and then slipped his hand to hold hers as they walked to the car and he said, "You don't need to thank me. That's my job."
"But you're not on duty," Nina replied.
"I didn't mean my job as a police officer, I mean my job as your husband," Chris told her, leaning down to kiss her cheek. "I'm always here to protect you Nina, I know you are more than capable of handling yourself but I don't want you to have to."
Nina smiled and felt her cheeks blush from his sweet words as they reached the car. Chris opened the passenger door for her before he climbed in the drivers seat. Before he could start the car, Nina reached over and put a hand on his leg to get his attention.
"I love you so much Chris," She honestly told him, rubbing her slender hand on his thigh. "And I have to say, I think it's really sweet when you're protective of me."
"Well I'm glad you do, because I kind of can't help it... I don't want anyone touching my girl," Chris chuckled as he started the car and pulled out of the parking spot.
"I'll always be your girl," Nina smiled at him.
Chris grinned from ear to ear, picking her hand up and pressing a kiss to her knuckles. Hearing those words made his heart warm because it made him think about the fact he had his precious Nina as his wife and got to spend the rest of his days with her.
