Whenever the sun was shining in Seattle, Nina felt like there was a little extra spring in her step. The beautiful warm sunshine that was just starting to go down was just the icing on the cake though. She had such a great day, getting to see Chris and Jake stop in for their usual coffee and after work she had gotten together with her sisters to help start planning Sarah's wedding.

It was just an all around good day, but when she walked into her and Chris' cozy home, she saw that she was the only one having a good day. Her warm eyes landed on her husband who was sitting on the couch, his feet propped up on the coffee table and Sarge snuggled at his side. What caught Nina's attention though was the ice pack Chris was holding on his cheek.

"Sweetheart! What's wrong?" She hurried over to sit down next to him, her eyes full of concern.

"Oh I'm fine," Chris assured his sweet wife.

Nina reached up and gently pulled his hand and the ice pack away from his face, seeing a bruise that was in the early stages of forming along his cheek bone. She looked at him with kind eyes and asked, "How did that happen?"

"Jake and I were arresting a guy and I was getting him into his cuffs when he slipped out and punched me," Chris explained.

"Oh honey," Nina cooed, gently running her fingers through his hair before her hand ran along his broad shoulders and she could feel how tense he was. "Come with me."

Chris rubbed Sarge's head before he let Nina take his hand and he followed her up the stairs. She brought him into the bathroom and Nina turned the water on to fill the bathtub up, dumping in some delicious smelling bath salts to mix in.

"Alright, let me get this to the right temperature and then you can get in and relax," Nina told him while she swirled her hand in the water to test it.

"Nina, I'm fine, I don't need to take a bath," He argued, not wanting her to fuss over him.

He loved Nina's sweet and nurturing way. She was always so compassionate and loving but really enjoyed to express that in practical ways by taking care of the people she loved. Chris wouldn't lie, he kind of liked the way she would fuss over and take care of him but he didn't want her to worry over him or inconvenience herself just on his account.

"Yes you do, I felt how tense you were," She replied.

"I'm really alright," Chris went on.

It was then that Nina stood up, turning around to face him and put her slender hands on the curve of her hips. She gave him a look that he knew was meant to be threatening but was just plain adorable before she ordered him, "Christopher Evans you are getting in this bath."

He just chuckled before telling her in his low voice, "Yes Nina Evans."

She grinned from ear to ear, still loving to hear new last name, before walking over to him and looked up into his handsome face. Nina rested a hand on his stubbled cheek before standing on her toes and placing such a soft and gentle kiss on top of his bruise. She then looked up into those ocean blue eyes and told him, "Just let me take care of you, okay?"
