A happy sigh escaped Chris as he finally laid the little baby down in her crib. It had taken him almost an hour to get her to go down for her nap but now she was sleeping soundly and Chris tip-toed out of the nursery and closed the door behind him.

"Boys," He said once he came downstairs to find all three of them playing with their legos. "Your sister is sleeping so make sure if you go upstairs, be really quiet."

"We will, Dad!" Jack promised.

He kissed all of their foreheads before asking, "Have you guys seen your mom?"

All three shrugged, telling Chris they didn't know so he went in search of Nina himself. His feet had just hit the top stair when he could faintly hear soft crying and he bolted into the bedroom. It was there that he found the source of the tears.

Nina was standing in front of a full length mirror in her underwear, holding her head in her hands while she sobbed. Instantly he was in front of her, wrapping his thick arms around her body and cradling her against his chest. He rubbed one of his big hands along her smooth back and the other stroked her hair.

"Shhhh, it's okay sweetheart. I'm here, I've got you," Chris tried to comfort her while kissing at her forehead. "What's wrong, baby?"

"I-I'm so u-ugly," The petite woman sobbed into him.

Chris put his hands on her shoulders and pulled away from her enough so that she could see the confused look on his face, "What in the world are you talking about?"

Finally she pulled her hands away from her face and Chris' heart broke. Her eyes were red and her cheeks were stained with tears. Nina's pink lower lip trembled while she sniffled and began to ramble, "Sophie is going to be five months old and I still haven't lost the baby weight and my stomach is soft and my hips are bigger and I have wrinkles around my eyes when I smile and I just tried to get on a pair of pants I had before we had kids and I couldn't even get them zipped up!"

"Oh sweetheart," He gently cooed while he cupped her face in his hands. "You're gorgeous and that doesn't change whether you can fit into the same jeans or not."

She just sniffled while she said, "It's easy for you to say. You're still just as gorgeous and sexy as you were when we got married. You're still muscular and fit and now I'm fat and ugly."

Her tears started flowing again but Chris didn't let her face out of her hands, forcing her to look at him while his tone became deeper and firm as he stated, "I don't ever want to hear those terrible words come out of your mouth again. I wouldn't let someone else say such untrue and terrible things about you and I'm not going to let you say them about yourself."

"But I don't look anything like I did when we got married," She replied.

"You're right... you look more beautiful," Chris told her.

Normally such sweet words would have cradled Nina's tender heart and made her beam with happiness but not right now. She was in such a state of self loathing, her brain convinced her Chris was lying... he had to be. How could he look at her ugly self and think otherwise?

She pulled away from him but Chris didn't let her get far. He placed her right in front of the mirror, forcing her to look at herself while he stood behind, resting his chin on top of her head and wrapped his arms around her, rubbing his hands on her soft stomach which made her internally cringe.

"Okay first, you need to give yourself a break. You just had a baby and your body is still getting back to normal so don't even beat yourself up for that," He told her. "But I want to tell you what I see when I look in that mirror. I see a beautiful woman."
