Valentines

The only sound that echoed in the cozy kitchen was the swishing of the hot coffee that poured into the white porcelain mug. Once the brown liquid was in the cup, Nina put the mug underneath the spout on the fancy coffee machine and added a perfect foam on the top, complete with little chocolate shavings. Once it was all finished, she walked over to the table where Chris had plopped down and discarded his gun belt and was busy working on getting his shoes off after the day at work.

"Here's an Americano, babe," Nina put the cup down on the table and then wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed a kiss to his stubbled cheek.

She went to stand back up to walk away, but now that Chris had gotten his shoes off he used his hands to wrap around her and pulled Nina into his lap. He was such a snuggler and Chris took every opportunity to cuddle his sweet wife in his muscular arms although Nina never minded the affection from him.

Chris took a long moment to kiss along her neck before he left one arm around her waist while he used his other to pick up the mug and take a long sip of the hot coffee, letting out a happy groan when he tasted it, telling her how delicious it was. Nina couldn't help but laugh when he put the cup back down and had foam stuck to his upper lip which he happily licked off before saying, "You know... this whole marrying a barista thing has really worked in my favor."

"Well, this whole marrying a sexy, kind hearted, wonderful police officer has worked in my favor too," Nina's brown eyes sparkled at him.

"Oooh, did you say sexy?" He teased, one of his hands coming to slip under her shirt to rest on the soft curve of her waist while Nina snaked her arms around his neck.

"Mhmm," Nina smirked as she leaned into connect their lips.

It didn't take long for Chris to have his tongue in her mouth while his hands grabbed her behind, squeezing her flesh tightly. He had just started earning those soft moans from his sweet wife when they heard a voice groan, "Oh gross!"

The parents quickly pulled apart and saw Logan standing in the kitchen, rolling his eyes but Chris just ignored it and asked, "When did you rugrats get home?"

"The bus just dropped us off," He said while making his way over to the fridge to look for a snack.

Chris didn't reply and just held Nina tighter against his chest as he brought his lips back to hers, earning a groan from their son who called out to his siblings, "Nobody come in the kitchen! Mom and Dad are being gross!"

Nina couldn't help but pull away to laugh before she stood up so she could hug Logan as well as the other kids who now had all wandered in to where the commotion was. Chris stayed in his spot sitting at the table but tossed a thick arm around Logan's neck, ruffling up his brown curls, making him laugh while Chris reminded him, "It's our house, we're allowed to be gross if we want to."

"Yeah but it's still gross," Logan chuckled once Chris let him go and he plopped down to eat his yogurt.

Jack and Ryan both came in, tossing their backpacks on the table before making a beeline to the snack drawer while Sophie skipped in behind them. She got a big kiss from Nina before she ran over to her father, shouting, "Daddy!"

"Peanut!" He gushed, scooping her up and rubbing his stubbled face on her soft skin, making her squeal before he attacked her face with little kisses. "How was school?"

"It was so fun! We had our Valentine's Day party at school," She told him.

Chris forgot that since Valentine's Day fell on a weekend this year, that their party was early and he replied, "Oh yeah! How was that?"

"It was so fun! We got to have popcorn and make Valentines and I made one for you and Mommy and for Jack, Logan and Ryan but you have to wait until it's actually Valentine's Day for me to give it to you," The sweet girl informed her father.
