Chapter 14

"Alright Sar, I think that looks pretty," Nina said as she placed the last bobby pin in Sarah's updo.

"I love it!" Sarah grinned while looking in the mirror. "Thanks Nina! Do you want me to help you with anything?"

Nina looked in the mirror at her appearance. She didn't look that different from normal, the only difference was she had put on a bit more eye makeup, lipstick, and her hair was a bit smoother and shinier than usual. She was never one for all the glitz and glam but tonight she did want to look pretty for Chris.

She didn't have time to think about it any longer thought because a knock came on the door so she hurried to get it. When Nina pulled it open, a wide grin appeared on her face seeing the handsome man in the doorway. When he laid eyes on her, Chris let out a loud whistle while he looked her up and down.

Nina was wearing a soft pink colored dress that had a halter top, showing off her slender shoulders before his eyes kept going down, seeing the tight fabric until it reached her waist and flared out a little where it hung until it came right above her knee. A pair of heels boosted her height and her little German Shepherd necklace hung around her neck. Her was soft and beautiful and he loved the side she tucked behind her ear so he could see more of her beautiful face. It wouldn't have really matter if she was wearing a potato sack though, Chris would have thought she looked gorgeous.

"Nina, you look stunning," He sweetly said, bringing his big hands to rest on her waist. "I can't believe I have this beautiful girl on my arm tonight. All the other guys are going to be so jealous when they see you."

"Chris," Nina said while blushing furiously. "You're the handsome one! Look at you!"

He was wearing a dark grey suit that emphasized his big shoulders and long legs. His stubble was short and sexy and the grey of the suit only popped his blue eyes even more. They shared a sweet kiss before Sarah walked out of her bedroom.

"Jake is coming in right behind me, he's just parking his car," Chris informed her before he added, "And Sarah.... You look beautiful by the way. Jake is lucky to be going with you."

"Thank you Chris," She kindly smiled before telling him, "I think you're the lucky one because you get Nina."

Chris turned his head to look into Nina's caramel sparkling eyes and replied, "I would have to agree with that."

In response, she just hugged him tight, feeling so full of love and happiness. Once Jake was there, they all took some pictures and chatted until it was time to go. The couples both drove separate which Chris was thankful for because after they had been at the dance for a few hours, Chris and Nina decided to head out and because they were alone in the car, it gave him the opportunity to reach over and slip one of his hands into Nina's.

"Thanks for going with me tonight, Nina," He squeezed her hand softly. "It means so much to me to have you there with me."

"I'm so happy you wanted me to go with you," Nina beamed while turning in her seat so she could look at him while he drove while still holding onto his hand with both of hers. "When you took me over to the group of your friends and introduced me then said I was your girl....Well... I really liked that. It made me feel like you were proud of me, ya know?"

Chris stole a glance at her as he was driving and told her, "That's because I am. I'm so proud of the fact you're my girl.... You're the most wonderful person I've ever met."

Hearing his straightforward and genuine words made Nina feel like her heart was warming her from the inside out. It touched her so much that her eyes glossed with tears. She lifted his hand up to her face and rested her cheek on it while she told him, "I love you so much Chris."
