Make It To Me (Chris Evans AU Fic)

"Oooh something smells good!" Chris announced when he walked into the kitchen as he secured the belt around his waist.

"Mom made chocolate chip pancakes," Logan said through a mouthful. "And it's not even Saturday!"

Nina turned around from the stove, smiling at the pair and told them, "Sometimes Mondays need chocolate chip pancakes more than Saturdays do."

"Everyday needs chocolate chip pancakes," Logan chuckled.

Chris smiled as he patted Sarge's head before going to wrap his arms around Nina's waist from behind, kissing her neck that her short hair exposed part of before saying, "I thought it was the pancakes that smelled so good but it actually was you."

She laughed while scooping up a few pancakes and put them on a plate before turning around to hand them to Chris with a peck at his lips saying, "Flattering me won't get you extra pancakes."

"Mhmm then maybe kissing you will," He smirked while putting the pancakes down so he could wrap his arms around her waist and kiss all over her face, making her laugh from his arms.

The moment was interrupted when Ryan appeared in the kitchen saying, "Mom, Sophie is calling for you."

"Oh, what does she want?" Nina was curious.

"I don't know but she's in the bathroom and she sounded upset. I asked her what was wrong but she just told me to come get you," Ryan explained.

The parents looked at one another before Nina went to climb the stairs and then knocked at the bathroom door gently before she opened it up. It was there that she found the thirteen year old sitting on the edge of the bathtub wrapped up in a towel with her short hair dripping wet from the shower she had just gotten out of.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Nina asked tenderly while coming to sit next to her, wrapping her arms around Sophie.

"I-I..." She trailed off while pointing to a towel on the floor with a blood stain on it and explained through her tears, "I think I started my period."

"Oh honey," Nina cooed while pulled her against her chest, not caring that her wet hair was soaking her sweater. "I know it's scary when you have it the first time but everything is going to be okay."

Sophie held onto her mother as she cried softly, feeling scared as well as emotional but relaxed as Nina comforted her and rubbed her back. Eventually she lifted her sweet face up and Nina wiped at her tears before she apologized, "I'm sorry I got blood on the towel... and I guess I probably got it on this one too."

If Sophie hadn't been emotional, Nina would have laughed from her words because it reminded her so much of herself and how Chris would usually get a chuckle from the things she would say but Nina just kissed her forehead and assured her, "Don't worry about that honey, I'll take care of that later. Why don't you jump back in the shower for a second to get cleaned up and I'm going to go grab some clothes and everything."

She nodded and Nina gave her one more tight squeeze and a kiss on the forehead before she went to Sophie room, grabbing a comfy sweatshirt and sweatpants before heading to her and Chris' bathroom to look in the cabinets. As she was doing this, Chris came in, his face full of concern as he asked, "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, Sophie just started her period," Nina explained while looking up into his clear blue eyes.

"Oh poor Soph," Chris said as he leaned up against the doorframe.

"When do you go to work?" She asked him.

Chris looked down at his watch before telling Nina, "Not for another hour. Why?"
