Have you ever had your entire life change in an insant? One second everything is perfectly normal, you're waking up every day doing the same old routine and feeling the same old shit. Everytime someone would ask how I was doing I would respond "same old same old" and i meant it. My life lacked exciment, peace, and stability and I craved it.
I've been at my moms the past couple nights and things havent been going well. Monroe is constantly arguing with my mom and her husband. A case worker from child services is coming to visit soon, if Monroe decides she doesnt want to be here anymore she can tell them she wants to leave and they'll take her and put her in a group or fauster home. All of this worries me and I haven't spoken to DeAndre in days despite him blowing up my phone, tonight I just might answer.
"Fuck you you fucking bitch!" Monroe yelled. "Choosing a nigga over me!"
"I'm not choosing shit over you! You're acting fucking crazy Monroe! You keep acting like this you're gonna have to get out my house!" My mom yelled back. I watched as tears built up in Monroe's eyes, she quickly wiped them away and ran upstairs. I shook my head in disgust at the both of them, Monroe will never forgive my mom for forgiving her husband for what he did to her, and my mom will never stop defending him.
"Where are you going Monroe?" I asked exhausted from breaking up their arguments all day.
"I'm leaving, she told me to leave right." She replied.
"She didn't tell you to leave she said to stop acting the way you're acting or you'll have to leave you know mom loves talking out her ass she aint gonna kick you out."
"I'm going to Aaliyahs for the night, I'll see you later"
Monroe grabbed her tote bag full of clothes and threw it over her shoulder preparing herself to leave. I knew it was made up in her mind that she was leaving and that there was no stopping her.
"Please be safe."
"I will."
Later that night I decided to finally answer one of DeAndre's calls since he had still been blowing me up and was so desperate for an answer. We talked all night, he told me how sorry and bad he felt for everything that had happened between him and Monroe. I understood how both of them felt seeing it from both points of view, they were both sorry I just wished they could say it to each other.
"Come home, Please?" DeAndre pleaded. I rolled my eyes.
"I just need some time DeAndre, things haven't really changed you know."
"Baby I promise you I aint seeing no other bitch. I love you and only you I wish you stop being so insecure and actually see that. I want my family back"
"Me? Insecure? No no no you are the one who got me fucked up you know damn well you been talking to some bitch don't try to play dumb now. If I'm insecure it's because you made me this way!"
"You're right, about the insecure part anyways. I just want my family I ain't worried about no other female I promise you I just want you, me and our child to be together not apart."
"You should've thought about that DeAndre, I need some time to myself."
I quickly hung up feeling so confused and frustrated. He always tries to make it seem like I'm crazy and just tripping when I'm not but I was actually starting to believe that I was. Maybe I was jumping to conclusions and was just in my head about everything. No... I saw the proof, he told me remember the argument... But he does seem genuinely sorry and I do want us to be a family. I don't want my child to grow up without a father.
"I've missed you so much." DeAndre said as breathing into my neck cuddling my naked body.
"Sure you did." I replied pushing his arm from around my waist. He slowly began to kiss my shoulders bringing chills down my spine. I turned around and looked him in his eyes in a daze, before he kissed me deeply taking my breath away.
"I'm gonna go chill with the boys tonight, okay?" DeAndre said as throwing a shirt over his head.
"It's 12am who the fuck is up at this hour?" I replied instantly suspicious.
"There you go jumping to conclusions again baby girl, I'll be back in 20 minutes I promise." He gently pecked my forehead before leaving me alone in the dark. I'm so stupid. I decided to go downstairs and chill with his mom, her cousin, and her girlfriend I know they're smoking and drinking but I don't want to be alone right now I have too much on mind.
"If you weren't pregnant Niyah I would get you so drunk!" DeAndre's mom's girlfriend Missy said as smiling. Her high grin crowded her face as his mom passed her the bong.
"As soon as I have this baby I promise you can." I replied as eating chips.
"I'm starving Niyah, will you walk with us to get something to eat from WaWa? I'll buy you a cookieee" His mom asked.
"I really don't feel like it, why can't we drive?" I replied.
"Aint none of sober enough to drive. C'mon Niyah get some fresh air, DeAndre should be back by the time we get home." her cousin added.
"Fine, just to pass the time and I want that cookie!"
"Lets roll!" Missy exclaimed.
We began to walk down a street we had never walked down before and DeAndre's mom continuously looked around like she was looking for someone.
"Why are we walking this way?" I asked clueless and becoming confused.
"Girl, just wanted to try something new." His mom replied. Her girlfriend and cousin laughed as walking with their arms over each other's shoulders in a drunk bliss.
We turned the corner and then DeAndre, his friend, and Layla turned the corner facing us. My heart began to beat out of my chest and he froze.
