I began to walk home by myself knowing my mom wasn't picking me up; with what car? I was also wondering where Monroe had went.
I looked back and saw Carlos walking behind me. He smiled stopping me in my tracks.
When he finally caught up to me I began to feel a little nervous. I haven't felt this way since... Since the first time I met DeAndre.
"So you a savage now?" He jokingly asked.
"Why do you say that?" I replied confused.
"Okay, I guess we're gonna play dumb. Two plus two equals five."
I chuckled causing him to smile.
"Today's my last day." He said breaking the silence as we walked together.
"What do you mean?"
"I dropped out yesterday, I was just saying my bye gones."
"To who? You didn't talk all day, as always."
"Why you do want me to talk more so badly for?"
"Because I think you have a lot to say... The quiet ones always do."
"I guess." He replied softly smiling.
"Let me see your phone since it's your last day." He handed me his phone smiling. A girl popped up as his wallpaper. She was tall skinny and pretty. It kind of caught me off guard, but why should I care I have a boyfriend. I quickly added my number to his contacts and then handed him his phone back.
"Sooo is that your girl?" I asked as the thought haunted me.
"Nah, just some Instagram thottie" he said making me laugh.
"Whatever you say Carlos." I replied smiling.
"You're so cute."
My cheeks grew red causing me to look away from him. I usually hate when guys compliment me because there's always a hidden intention with it.
"Um, I'm gonna catch the bus home so see you later?" I said as standing at the bus stop.
"Yeah. Ima text you." He said before hugging me tightly.
Once he got far enough up the street I began to dig through my purse for change. It's way too cold for me to be walking but hopefully I won't have to.
My phone then began to ring, it was DeAndre. Seeing his name on my caller ID usually shocks me because he never calls, never text.
I quickly answered. He sounded like he was crying.
"My mom" he cried. "Meet me at the hospital I'll wait for you in the emergency room." He then hung up before I could say anything.
