Ned & Peter Valentines Day Oneshot

Peter walks in to school with the kind of nervous jitters only a secret could hide. Obviously, his best friend noticed.

"Peter, are you okay?" Ned asks, confusion written on his face, as well as concern.

Peter smiles softly and nods, marveling at Ned's eyes. They were this perfect shade of brown that you could never get tired of staring at. Peter diverts his eyes quickly, so Ned doesn't realize he's staring.

Ned frowns slightly but shrugs it off, going back to his normal smile. "I got you a gift!" He exclaims brightly.

Peter lights up. "Really?"

Ned nods and pulls out a small container of chocolate as well as a small teddy bear that resembles C-3PO. Peter smiles and tears up. Ned was one of the most kindest souls he's had the pleasure to meet.

Ned hands over the bear and chocolates, and Peter timidly reaches out and takes them from Ned's hands. They both blush slightly.

Peter bites his lip and stares out into space. Ned waves a hand in front of his eyes. "Ned, I need to tell you something."

Ned nods and looks at him expectantly, but patiently. It gives Peter butterflies.

"I—I have a crush—on someone," Peter stutters out. Ned smiles.

"It's the perfect day for that! Go tell them!" Ned says encouragingly. Peter frowns and shakes their head.

"Maybe later, we have to get to class," Peter says shyly. Ned sighs and nods. 

"Okay, but promise you'll tell them by the end of the day?" Ned asks, raising up his pinky finger.

Peter snorts and links his finger with Ned's, blushing slightly. "Okay, I promise."

The rest of the day goes by and Peter and Ned walk out of their last class together. Ned turns to Peter.

"Did you tell them?" He asks excitedly. Peter forms his lips in a tight line and shakes his head in microscopic movements. Ned groans in annoyance. "Peter! You promised!"

Peter takes a quick breath through his mouth and out even quicker through his nose. "Ned, it's you."

Ned turns to him with a confused half-smile. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. What'd you say?"

Peter silently curses. "It's you."

Ned squints his eyes, as if trying to process this. He turns his head and keeps walking with Peter. Peter stays quiet, waiting for him to freak out or walk away from him. Finally, Ned's eyes light up. 

He smiles softly and takes Peter's hand, who jerks his head towards him with surprise. Ned smiles at him in response. Peter begins to shyly smile back. 

They continue holding hands until the get out of the school, where they release their sweaty hands and Peter walks to Happy's car, waving goodbye to Ned. 

Peter shuts the door and leans his head back, grinning ear-to-ear. 

Happy snorts.

"Happy, please shut up and let me enjoy my moment."
