AGAD na sinalubong si Matthew ng Papa Andres ni Liezl nang makalabas siya ng private room nito.

“Hijo, anong nangyari sa anak ko? Bakit hindi niya kami maalala?” tanong nito.

Tumingin siya sa mga ito. “Please wait for me here, kakausapin ko lang ang doktor na gumamot sa kanya,” iyon lang at tumuloy na siya sa opisina ni Dr. Santos.

Sinabi niya dito ang nangyari at agad naman nitong tiningnan ang test results ni Liezl. “There’s a part of her brain that has been damaged due to the accident. Though, it’s only a small damage, I can’t believe it can cause her to forget her memories.”

“So, may amnesia siya?” tanong niya dito.

Tumango ito. “Yeah, this could be due to the head injury from her car accident. It can also be a traumatic amnesia.”

“I see, pero bakit naaalala niya ako?”

“Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit,” sagot nito. “You know that the brain is still something of a mystery for modern science. Kaya wala pa masyadong mga kasagutan sa mga tanong tungkol sa amnesia, maging sa lunas para dito. All I can think is that, maybe after the accident her brain only chooses the memories she wants to remember or maybe she was thinking of you when the accident occurs. I don’t have a definite answer to that, Matthew. We, doctors, don’t have answers all the time. May mga bagay pa rin na hindi natin kayang ipaliwanag at hindi kayang intindihin. Let’s just stay with that. The important thing is that she’s alive.”
