James's POV

I was cooking my dinner while I talked to Andrea on the phone. I felt lonely, I wasn't used to be home alone anymore and frustrated I had to spend the weekend without her. Lars asked me to meet him at a bar, but I wasn't in the mood. I would just sit on the couch and watch a movie or something.

"She's so cute." I said subsiding my laughter.

"She's nosy you mean." Andrea said on the other end. I looked away from the stove and leaned against the counter, holding the phone in one hand and a beer in the other. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"I am cooking dinner. I was also missing you, so I decided to call you." I said. Everything was so easy with her, telling her I loved her or that I missed her. Usually I had trouble saying this type of things, always afraid of showing them and with her I was deprived of all fears and she could make me say everything naturally, without effort.

"Cooking? You?" She laughed and I smiled all alone seeing my reflection on the fridge. Andrea had the cutest laughter ever, suddenly I stopped listening to her as her laughter echoed in my mind that night, back in 82, at Brian's party.

"Oh Jamie...you're here." She said as I arrived. She wasn't deadly drunk, but she was already happy, and I was too as I was coming back from a gig. Andrea crossed her arms around my neck and kissed my cheek.

"Hey..." I said laughing but feeling uncomfortable at the same time as I felt insecure around her. Andrea giggle loud at my reaction and pulled back, looking at me with her dark eyes shining. She looked so gorgeous that night.

"Get me a beer Jamie." She asked me and her orders were my command, I would do anything she'd asked. I brought two beers, one for me and another for her and a joint.

"Wanna share?" I asked her. I was pretty much against drugs but that night, I don't know, I felt like it and pot is a light drug anyway. Andrea looked at me serious and at my offer, I knew she wasn't into that stuff, but she took my hand outside and we smoke it until the end, sharing drags. In the end Andrea was laughing her ass off and so was I and her cheeks were red and she looked perfect. I brought more beer; I don't know how many bottles we downed but when she got up she tripped on her own feet and fell over me. I grabbed her with my arms shaking from having her that close and she just laughed, she was just lost.

"Wanna dance with me?" She asked me, hearing some slow song inside.

"No way!" I refused. I was just the metal guy, I couldn't dance but then she pouted with her perfect lips and held onto my neck and spoke so close, making me hold my breath.

"Please Jamie, you just have to follow me." I got inside with her and we joined other couples dancing close, too close.

"James...James..." I heard her voice and took me out of my trance.

"Sorry." I said. "I can cook! I am making these delicious steaks." I argued. She laughed again and I felt just tenderness taking care of me just from hearing her.

"Will you cook for me one of these days then?" I smiled. I would cook for her everyday if she wanted me to.

"Sure." I said smiling all alone as if she was right in front of me. I was just so dead, so fucked up and so in love, I felt pity for myself, but I was loving it, then a burning smell made me turn around. "Oh fuck...Andrea...I have to hang up, the steaks are burning." I said taking the skillet off the stove.

"Ok, call me later."

"I will. Bye." I hung up and looked in disbelief at my steaks completely ruined. "Yeah...I better order." I spoke to myself and grabbing my phone.
