James complied his goal of New Year's Eve of cutting his hair and one day, without telling us, he just got home, and half of his hair was gone. Sarah was the first one to see it and I remember her releasing a yelp and then asked really astonished "What have you done to your hair?". I came to see it and my jaw dropped on the floor making a huge noise and then got back to its place. James had cut his hair really short but there was a mullet on the back of his head. I didn't know what to tell him. I didn't like it first, I was so used to his long hair, but then, taking a look at him during dinner, I loved how his face was showing now and he looked so gorgeous. The mullet itself gave him this savage look that I adored in seconds and I didn't criticize him, because that was his essence, that was him being him. I understood that even if he cut his hair he had still to have something radical and that was his way of doing it. James was a family man and even though I was never picky with him he'd still had to have his wild side and that was his way of rebelling, I loved him that way.
"Are you nervous?" Belle asked me. I was sat at the bed trying to take deep breaths looking at the flowers that were on the bed. "You look amazing Andrea!" She exclaimed. I looked up at he and gave her a faded smile. I was having trouble to breathe; my chest was coming up and down, but it seemed like the air didn't reach my lungs. I was even a bit dizzy and my mind was racing a mile per second.
"Mom, can you leave me alone with Belle?" I asked my mom. With a nod she prepared to leave the room. "Where's Sarah?" I asked her before she crossed the door.
"She's outside with James, you better hurry up, you're already late." She smiled.
"Mom, please make sure she wears the gloves and she doesn't take the mask off."
"Don't worry, I'll keep my eyes on her." My mother closed the door and I looked at Belle panicked. My eyes opened wide and I even felt like crying. Belle smiled at me.
"You're dying, aren't you?" She asked me sitting by my side.
"You're going to ruffle your dress." I told her.
"And you're not ruffling yours? And you're the bride..." She giggled.
"I'm panicking." I confessed.
"You're terrified..." She said.
"I love him, I really do. God...I don't have any doubts, but I don't know...my heart is racing...I am scared."
"It's normal Andrea, or so they say. I never got married but seeing you today, I must admit it's true. Take a look out at the window..." She said. I walked to it and peeked behind the white curtains. A full view of the Pacific Ocean stole my gaze at first. James and I decided to get married at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links, situated on nearly three hundred gorgeous acres of parkland, lakes, and breath-taking ocean-side bluffs with access to a beautiful beach. Then I looked down at the garden and saw James with Sarah by his hand talking to Lars. Belle came to my side and patted my shoulder.
"See that guy over there? That guy is waiting for you and you love him."
"He looks so...GOOD!" I said emphasizing the word. I had never seen James on a black suit, and he looked just amazing. I smiled when I saw him laugh loud, I could barely hear his cute laughter, but I knew it by heart, and that moment my heart raced but not of anxiety or nervousness but of love for the man I was watching. "He's nervous..." I said looking at him. "See the way he can't keep his hands quiet, the way he scratches the back of his neck...and that giggle, he laughs like that when he's nervous."
"It's natural, he's never been married before. So, wanna go down now and make that guy's nervousness disappear?" I looked at Belle and smiled, nodding at the same time.
