My mornings became more pleasant, James began to take Sarah to school, which allow me to stay in bed a little more, though I'd always made them breakfast and had it with them, that way we had two meals together. Our mornings were spent together and that pleased me much. James came home sooner every day and his collaboration on the wedding was of a normal groom and that eased my mental war. Made things more romantic in a way and I think he was pretty much enjoying being part of all that.

I left the house running a bit late to my business date with Corey. He had called me after lunch to meet him for a coffee saying he had something to talk to me about a job. I tried not to sound too enthusiastic but all I wanted to do was dance around in joy just from the thought of working again. I called James to let him know I was meeting him, so he wouldn't be caught by surprise, James was still jealous of him and also because we had a meeting with the agency that was taking care of the wedding too and I asked him to meet me later at the Starbucks I was going to meet Corey. He muttered a bit, commented the same stuff a thousand times, got a bit cranky but ended up agreeing.

The day was fabulous, we were in the beginning of March already and the air smelled like spring. The sun was shining high and the sky was blue, without a trace of clouds in it. No traffic at all on the freeway, it gave me the feeling I was there all alone and my heart was beating fast, just from the thought I could be working again soon. Now with James's help, it made even more sense to get my job. I parked the car and got in the cozy Starbucks on the corner of 4th street. I saw Corey on the back waving at me and immediately I smiled at him. He was a gentleman, getting up to pull the chair so I could sit, he had always been like that.

"If I am not mistaken you like your coffee black." He said.

"Exactly." I nodded. Corey waved the waitress and asked for two coffees, then he turned to me, still showing his perfect teeth and his green eyes were sparkling...he was still incredibly gorgeous.

"How have you been?" He asked me.

"Very well, and you?" The waitress came with our beverages and he waited until she left to answer my question.

"Doing fine, a bit busy with classes but happy I am back in town and even happier cause I found you, how cool is that?" I found his last remark a bit weird but still I smiled at him.

"So, you said you had something to talk to me?" I asked him to avoid the awkward silence that invaded our table all of a sudden.

"Hey, we have time to talk about that, I also want to enjoy your company."

"Actually, I don't have that much time Corey, I am sorry. James is meeting me here in a while, we have some stuff to do together." I explained as I really thought that conversation was getting a bit weird.

"Ah...I see." He said vaguely. "Well..." He cleared his throat. "There's gonna be a vacancy, for sure, to teach the post graduators in family law. I think you could do that since you worked on that field and your experience is enough to do a good job with them. Would you like that?"

"I'd love that! That would be awesome!" I said controlling me not to jump around.

"You're gonna be an assistant professor, which means you'll be working there for at least three years and then you can run for the promotion. You'll give classes three times a week, during the whole morning, then the afternoon are yours, salary, 85.000$ a year, not bad, is it?"

"That's great!! I mean, I can still pick up my daughter in school and stuff." The money was good but to me it wasn't even about the money but about the fact that I could occupy myself with something useful.
