I was driving Sarah to school when my cell rang. With a hand I took it off my purse and saw James name on the display.

"Hi babe." I said.

"Hi love." He said sounding a bit tired and sad. It had been a week and being away from him was far from being easy. Both Sarah and I were used to have him around and it was weird not to have him at home every day. James filled the house with joy with his jokes and funny laughter and that was missed a lot, plus waking up in an empty bed morning after morning made me feel lonely.

"What's the matter with you?" I asked him.

"Nothing..." He sighed. "Where are you?" He asked instead.

"Driving Sarah to school, it's really early here, what time is it there? And where are you?" He usually didn't call at that time. He'd always call around dinner time.

"I'm in Paris, it's almost time 3.30pm." He said.

"What time is the gig?"

"At nine, but we're already at the venue. We have some interviews and shit."

"You sound sad..." I commented.

"I miss you. I miss being at home." He confessed. "How's Sarah? How's Tyler?"

"Sarah is on the backseat and Tyler has been kicking a lot. They miss you too." I smiled as if he could see me.

"Just remember how much I love all three of you." He said. Instead of being happy with his words, my heart shrunk a bit in pain.

"We love you too." I said though.

"Can you give the cell to Sarah now?" He asked and after a quick goodbye and a promise to call later I handed Sarah the phone.

"Hi dad!" She yelled completely excited she was talking to him so soon. "I am fine." She continued. And so James talked to her until I parked in front of the gate of her school, there she kissed me and give me back the phone.

"Babe..." I called him and James took a while to answer me, then I heard him sniffing. "James..." I called his name worried.

"I'm here." He finally said but his voice was choking a bit and I realized he was crying. "I'm sorry..." He said.

"What for?" I asked.

"For being this week, for not taking the pressure." He said. "I am having a hard time..." He said.

"Hang in there, just more two weeks." I said. "James...the camera and the tape disappeared..." I said worried as I noticed the camera with the tape of our honeymoon was nowhere to be found in the house.

I heard him laugh a bit. "Don't worry, I brought it with me." He said.

"Oh...God..." I breathed in relief. "For a second I thought we had lost it somehow or that Sarah had grabbed it."

"No, I have it." He laughed again.

"Naughty boy." I joked.

"It's better than watch random porn."

"I got to go babe, I am running a bit late for my classes and later Sarah wants to go visit Trish at the hospital."

"How is she?"

"Not good babe, a few days ago we went there, and the girl wasn't doing fine."

"Oh Jesus..." He blurted in a concerned tone.

"Yeah..." I said. A couple more minutes talking to him and we hung up. James's sad tone worried me but then I got entertained the rest of the morning giving classes to my post graduators and teaching law. I had lunch at the university with Corey as a company and he kept me company for the two hours I had until I had to pick up Sarah again at school. From there we went straight to the hospital. Sarah had developed a great friendship with Trish since they had been roommates at the hospital and since the little girl got back to the hospital that she went there frequently to visit her. I always took her there without questioning anything, I think it was good for her to have these close friendships but since I saw Trish getting worse every day that I was concerned at Sarah's reaction. It had been three days since we last went there and I knew Trish was doing bad because I had been in touch with her mother and there I refrained from taking Sarah there, but she insisted. I explained then and prepared her to what she was going to find, Trish wasn't even talking anymore and even if she cried, she still wanted to go. My heart was aching a bit, I wanted to spare Sarah from that suffering. As we entered the hospital I grabbed her hand.
