"Mom...." I heard Sarah's voice and I blinked my eyes as I heard a knock at the door. The clock read 7 am. Too early.
"Sarah..." I called her. James was in his boxers and I was in my nightgown, with Sarah around the house there was no way we could sleep naked. He stirred a bit, turning on his stomach, his face turned to me and his hair covering it. The door opened gently, and I saw her tiptoeing until she got near me. "What is it?" I hushed.
"Isn't it time to go?" She asked.
"Sweetie, it's still too early. Oakland is not far, is not on another state. "Come here." I told her pulling my covers up and dragging my body closer to James's so I could give her some space. Sarah smiled and lay down by my side. I kissed her and put an arm around her. "Now close your eyes and sleep a bit more." I told her and she did as I asked her.
Later on I felt something tickling my face, without opening my eyes I took a hand to my face trying to shake that thing away, then I felt lips on my nose, and I forced myself to open an eye to find James smiling, his hair was what was tickling my face.
"What is she doing here?" He hushed.
"She came here at 7 am asking if it wasn't time to go." I told him yawning and stretching on the bed. I felt so lazy, his arms surrounded my waist and pulled me to him while his lips kissed mine in the morning kiss.
"Wanna get up? Have breakfast?" He asked. "We can let her sleep a bit more." He said looking at her. I nodded and he pulled the covers away, giving me his hand then to help me stand
"I think I'll take a shower first." I told him. I always had to take a shower first thing in the morning, otherwise my day wouldn't be good, and I wouldn't be sufficiently awake. James kissed my forehead.
"Ok. Take your time, this time I'll make us breakfast." He smiled.
"Aren't you going to destroy the kitchen?" I teased him. He opened his mouth pretending to be indignant, then surround my waist with his arms pulling me to him and bit my neck as punishment.
"You don't trust me." He played the offended.
"In the kitchen?" I asked looking in his playful blue eyes. "I am sorry babe...no I don't." I said. He grabbed me even closer making me giggle.
"Listen you little teaser, you're going to have the best breakfast of your life." He bit me again and I giggle a little louder. Sarah moved in bed and I covered my mouth with my hand.
"We better get out of here before we wake our daughter up." He said. With a kiss on my lips he left the room, closing the door smoothly and I began to choose what to wear. Since we were going to a football game I wanted something practical. I picked up a pair of black jeans, and white tank top, then I went to the bathroom.
I met James occupied in the kitchen flipping some slices of bacon near the stove, just in a shirt and shorts and his hair tied up, he was whistling, and I was almost laughing from seeing him so dedicated to the kitchen's affairs. I noticed the table was set for two and there was coffee, bread and orange juice in it, I curled an eyebrow admired that he had worked so fast. The toaster has some bread in it, and there was also eggs frying.
"Jesus, it does look good." I finally said making him jump with a fork in his hand. "Calm down..." I laughed.
"Fuck, you scared me." He laughed too. I went closer and put my arms around his waist and kissed him. "Humm...you smell so good babe." He said burying his nose on my wet hair. I let go to help him with the rest, so I checked on the toasts, buttering them right after. I took the plate to the table and then looked at him. "Can you take the eggs too?" He asked and so I did, while he was finishing the bacon. Finally we both sat, and I found out I was truly hungry.
