I woke up around 10 am, while everyone was still sleeping. Putting on my robe, I went downstairs and turned the coffee machine on. Then I opened the door to Disco so he could come in the kitchen.

"Hey boy." I said tapping his head. "Want your food, uh? Is that it?" I talked to him and Disco began to ran from me to the cabinet where I kept his food franticly. "Are you hungry?" I joked and he sat in front of it wagging his tail and looking at me. I stayed still looking at him and as he saw I wasn't moving he yelped a bit. "Ok..." I surrendered to his cuteness and grabbed the sac of his food and poured some in his bowl. His attention left me in seconds, and it was all about the food and there my mind also traveled to something else, and images of James coming back home drunk again popped up in my mind. I shook my head as my eyes filled with water and tried to shake it away, but it hurt too much. He broke the promise he had made that very day.

When the coffee was ready I poured a cup and went outside, taking Disco with me. He began to run around, and I sat near the pool sipping on my coffee and thinking about life. About how would I deal with what was ahead, because I knew something hard was coming up in my life. I stayed there until I was finished and then I came back to the kitchen and filled another cup, this time for James. It was Saturday and the kids would want his attention, so he couldn't' be hangover or at least, not much. I took the cup to our room and once there I placed it on his night stand. Then I grabbed an aspirin and a glass of water and put it near the coffee, and then I just shook him.

"James...wake up." I said. He turned around ignoring my calling and kept on sleeping, so I shook him again. "James..." I called his name. "Wake up."

"What?" He said not in a friendly tone.

"Wake up." I said.

"I want to sleep; my head hurts too much." He complained, pulling the sheets over his head. I rolled my eyes and then pulled the sheet away and uncovered him completely.

"Wake up!" I said firmly. "We're going to have lunch at Lars's and soon the kids will be up and asking for your attention. Wake up, come on...I made you coffee." I said. He stretched, still with his eyes closed and then turned on his back. He rubbed his eyes for quite some time before keeping them open, he stared at me for a while, but I turned around and walked away. "You have a cup of coffee on your nightstand, and then take the aspirin." I said, closing the door of the bathroom behind me.

"Andrea..." I heard him call my name, but I ignored him, turning the knob opened to let the water get warm for my morning shower. I saw James's clothes scattered on the floor, he must have come up early in the morning, when he was feeling better. So, when I got out of the shower I grabbed his clothes to take it to the laundry. It smelled too much like cigarettes, then I checked his pockets to see if they were empty, and on the back pocket of his jeans I found a paper. In it I saw a phone number and a girl's name. My heart shrunk to minimum size and began to beat in my throat. My eyes flooded with tears in seconds and right that moment James came in, finding me shocked with his clothes in one hand and a paper in another. As I looked up at him my tears began to fall.

"What?" He asked coming near. He was about to ran a hand over my face, but I stepped back, not letting him touch me, instead I handed him the paper.

"I think this belongs to you." I said and he grabbed the paper, looking at it after.

"Andrea..." He said.

"No, it's ok. I'm glad to know you skipped a quiet night at home with me and broke your promise of not drinking anymore, to be exchanging phone numbers with girl in a bar." I said rudely.

"It's not that. This girl just approached our table and gave it to me." He explained.

"And you kept it?" I asked him.
