I came back home with my daughter on Sunday night. I haven't seen James because we arrived in San Francisco really late, not that he bothered but Sarah was tired and not feeling very well, so I went straight home and put her in bed. I was still a bit nervous about them meeting, James new the truth already and Sarah knew he was my boyfriend, but I still felt nervous, more because of her because she's always seen me with the same man and now I had another one. I settled with her doctor for an appointment on Monday morning and my boss was just amazing in understanding why I had to be late that day.

"Sarah...come on..." I shouted with the door opened, ready to leave. As she didn't say anything I called her name again. "Sarah..." I waited 5 seconds and then I ran upstairs. "Sarah..." I called again bursting into her room. I found her sat on the bed crying.

"What is it honey?" I said crouching in front of her and cleaning her wonderful blue eyes.

"I am afraid." She said sobbing a bit. I ran a hand over her face and kissed her cheek.

"It's gonna be alright, mommy is gonna be there with you, so there's nothing to be afraid of, ok?" She nodded and sighed.

"I also miss Alex. Can you call him mom?" There she broke my heart a little, after all things were gonna be a bit harder than I thought.

"You call him of your cell, I don't mind that, but I can't call him. Alex doesn't want to talk to me sweetie."

"But I can call him right?" She asked and nodded. "What if he doesn't want to talk to me either?"

"He wants to talk to you honey. Alex loves you a lot." I assured her.

"Is James nice mom?" She asked taking her hand to her eyes subsiding the crying. I smiled at her question, my girl was having so many doubts, I could imagine the mess inside her little head.

"I don't know, you tell me, you talked to him on the phone many times during the weekend. Is he nice?" She giggled and then smiled.

"He seemed nice and funny." She laughed.

"Oh...he is funny indeed." I laughed with her.

"How does he look like?" She asked. I took the fact that she was calm and distracted to grab her hand and take her out of the room. Sarah followed me without resistance.

"Well, he's got blue eyes, long hair..."

"Long hair??" She asked almost shocked and that caused me to laugh even more.

"I have known him for many years. He was a friend of mine when mom was living in LA, we used to go to the same school." I explained to her, just to give her a bit more of our story. With that, and with James being the main subject we managed to get to the doctor's office on time. Sarah was very curious and made question after question, and I tried my best to answer all her doubts. I made it clear that he was my boyfriend now.

"So Sarah, how are you?" Dr. Connelly greeted her.

"I am fine." She smiled and sat.

"What brings you here Andrea?" The doctor asked me. Sarah looked at the window and I began the explanation.

"Well, she was spending the summer with my parents at their ranch, and on one of the weekends I went there she told me she was feeling tired and she stopped playing, she lay on the couch for quite some time, hours and you know she's very electric. Then my mother began to notice she felt tired too many times and Sarah, herself, complained about it. This Saturday she said she also felt dizzy and she was quite pale, I am a bit worried." Dr. Connelly listened attentively and then looked at Sarah and checked her eyes.
