JAMES POV
I heard a tremendous noise, our car was dragged for a few seconds and then span around, being thrown out of the road and it hit against a tree. I was dazed with all the rush, then I noticed it hit again on the driver's side, again on Andrea's side. I needed a few seconds to process everything, and then I realized my son screaming and crying and my daughter too. I began to look for wounds, apparently I had nothing, apart from a scratch on my arm, then I looked at her.
"OH..." I exclaimed with my lips trembling. Even in the dark I could notice all the blood around her. The airbag blown away, her face against it. I took a hand to her hair, to pull it away from her face but I couldn't see well. She was not conscious, that was obvious. There was not a movement, a whisper, nothing.
"Daddy..." Tyler called for me and that made me woke up for another reality. My children. I was about to try and open the door of the car when someone appeared outside almost making me jump.
"Are you alright sir?" The man asked and I nodded. I opened the door of the car, finally getting out of it. The man was getting Sarah out of the car, so I went for my little one. Tyler gripped onto my neck and Sarah held me tight too, both crying, all of us crying.
"It's ok..." I whispered, pampering Tyler's hair.
"Mom?" Sarah called.
"I'm gonna call 911." The guy told us, and I saw him running back to the road and I walked near Andrea.
"Andrea, wake up." I said low. "Please wake up..." I cried with Tyler in my arms.
"Mommy?" Sarah called again and I put Tyler in her arms.
"Take your brother out of here." I instructed her and she did so, I stayed there, knowing Andrea was completely trapped inside the car. The crash had been all on her side and there was no way I could take her out of there.
"Sir, they're coming. Stay calm." The guy came back. I was shaking, unable to think properly. All I could think of was that I was going to lose her. I saw the guy, going inside the car through my side and then he did something to her. "She is breathing." He said. "They told us to keep her warm." I took my jacket off and put it around her back, there was nothing more that I could do, then I stayed there, near her crashed window waiting for the ambulance.
"You have to be alright; you hear me. You can't leave me." I told her crying. The guy was near my kids and I should be near them too, but I couldn't leave their mother all alone. Half an hour later, the ambulance and paramedics arrived, as well as the police. They were talking to the guy that helped us, who was in fact, the truck driver that hit us.
"Sir, you need to stay away please." They began to work. While the special operations was trying to take Andrea out of there, the paramedics assisted us and then they wanted us to go to the hospital right away to do some tests, but I refused.
"No, I am not leaving my wife here." I said.
"Sir, your children need to be checked." The paramedic insisted and I was faced with a dilemma, still I went to what Andrea would want me to do. I went with the kids to the hospital.
"Will she go to the same hospital?" I asked on our way there?"
"Yes sir..." The paramedic said being vague. The kids made all the way silent and I didn't feel like talking either. I kept reliving that horrible moment in my mind and hearing the horn too loud. We were checked and rechecked at the hospital. Sarah needed something to calm her down, Tyler was alright, and I just needed light treatment on the cut I had on my arm, after that, I had to wait. I sat the kids at the couch and began to walk around in circles, tears fell down my face.
