BONDING

Eli and Jessica return home.

Eli:"Thanks for bailing me out."

Jess:"It was nothing. I missed my roommate plus I don't like living in an empty apartment..it's lonely."

Eli:"I see. I'm going to unpack."

Jessica nods and texts Jasmine.

Jes* Hey can you come over maybe share a glass of wine?

Jas: Sure I don't have anything else to do why not?

Jes: Perfect see you then.

Jas: Okay

Jessica straightens up the living room when she hears the doorbell ring.

Jess:"Jasmine!"

Jas:"Jessica?"

She hugs her.

Jas:"What was that for?"

Jes:"I'm trying to make things right give me a break! Can't I hang out with my cousin?"

Jas:"I guess but you need new friends."

Jes:"Right...friends. Well that would be easy if everyone in this town didn't hate me. Come sit down."

They sit in the living room as Jessica pours wine into the glasses.

Jas:"So how has life been cousin?"

Jes:"You know when I was mean at least I had fun. Being nice is so boring but it keeps me out of trouble so. But I just bailed Eli out of jail."

Jas:"After he tired to kill me and my friends."

Jes:"Friends? Your funny you mean you and your girlfriends friend."

Jas:"Don't be jealous they are trying to get to know me. I'm not evil like-"

Jes:"Like me...right. Are you ever going to forgive me?"

Jas:"Its going to take time but yes."

Jes:"Now that you have all my business, how have you been?"

Jas:"Well me and T are back together."

Jes:"That's great but you don't seem so happy."

Jas:"I don't know Jes something seems off."

Jes:"Off how? Oh my did she cheat again."

Jas:"Her ass would have been single by now. That's not the problem. How do I know she isn't going to run when things get tough?"

Jes:"You don't. You just have to let yourself learn for yourself."

Jas:"By getting hurt, no thank you."

Jes:"Everyone experiences heartbreaks Jas. How else are you supposed to feel?"

Jas:"Pain."

Jes:"That's not funny."

Jas:"Have you ever experienced heartbreak?"

Jes:"Is that even a question? When I met Cardo he changed my life. He was getting close to me and I messed up the best thing to happen to me."

Jas:"Maybe you were afraid to get hurt like me?"

Jes:"Yes but it also taught me what could have been great if I would have let my walls down and let him in. Look Jas I'm happy he moved on and now its time for me to move on too. You are lucky your love wants you back."

Jas:"Maybe its time for you to date someone new. Start over."

Eli comes down to grab a glass of milk and Jessica stares.

Jes:"Maybe.  More wine?"

Jas:"Please."

Jes:"I say talk to her and let her know how you feel and if she doesn't understand fuck her."

Jas:"But then I will be all alone."

Jes:"You won't be alone..you have me. For real this time. I'm not going to let anything happen to you. I did enough. Don't be afraid of love cousin. It is so beautiful but don't lose yourself."

Jas:"Why now?"

Jes:"Why now what?"

Jas:"Why are you being nice?"

Jes:"I got tired of being the bad guy plus it got boring. You know I love you right?"

Jas:"I know now."

Jes:"I'm going to make sure you know how much I love you."

Jas:"I love you too."

Jessica hugs Jasmine.

Jes:"Can you stay with me tonight? I could use the company."

Jas:"Sure thing."

They snuggle on the couch.
