Sophia.

Lily was acting weird again, almost like a stranger that hated my guts and couldn't stand the sight of me, so much so that she kept her distance and never looked my way, not even once when when I had wished her good morning, she ignored me—  she was acting that weird.

I tried asking her about it but being ignored by my bestfriend is something I'm not used to, so I stayed silent, and it only added to my sudden uneasiness.

Eventually I had shrugged it off as pregnancy hormones or something but that still didn't make sense why Luca behaved the same way too and why Percy suddenly distanced himself in the bathroom earlier.

Jake though, he was normal and almost oblivious to the tension in the room as he tried making conversation with everyone, me as well and I happily conversed back.

But my phones loud ring tone had shut our conversation about college short and had me running towards the kitchen, away from everyone else's prying eyes and ears.

“Sophia, I need you to listen to me carefully.”

Roxanne doesn't allow me to get a word in as soon as I answer, she's rapping into the phones speaker.

“You need to leave Santorini today, right now.” She rushes and I freeze. “Listen, those people aren't your friends or whatever you want to call it. I need you to get on a flight back home right now, please. I know you have questions but I need you to understand and follow through with this right now and later, I'll answer everything. ” She begs.

“Why?”

One word— that is all I can speak, one word.

“Please.”

That is all she tells me, another one word.

Please.

Roxanne, for as long as I know her, does not beg or anything relating to the word but she just did that— she begged me, she actually fucking begged me which means one thing : Trouble, deep deep trouble.

My phone beeps and I glance down at it.

I booked your flight in the next thirty minutes. Please be on that flight, Sophia. It reads and makes my stomach turn.

I turn back around, about to rush to my room, but a tattooed chest stops me and then I remember, Percy and I still need to talk, about what exactly? I am not sure.

“Percy, hi.”

His eyes silently watch me walk back and around the island, standing opposite him. I'm not scared because I know that my aunt didn't mean him or my group of friends, but shes right because I feel it too— trouble is on its way.

“You wanted to talk?”I ask before chewing on my lip.

He continues to stare at me for another minute and then he sighs, running his hand through his wet hair while he nods and leans against the counter behind him.

I ignore the butterfly feeling I get when I remember our little fiasco in this kitchen and focus on him.

“Sophia,” There it is, my name again.
