Roxanne.

A breath of relief.

I've been putting it off for too long and now,

A week, that's how long we have.

My heels click behind me as I walk back into my brother's office, his busy with clients right now but after this, it's time for a celebration. I'm sure of it, this is all great— I can already see my niece smiling and grinning at me in one of the many dresses that I'll make for her— oh lord it's nice!

Men and women with business suits all rush out of the office after five more minutes and I'm thankful for it.

“Roxanne.” Dunley beams and I smile at him.

“Oh dear sister, please do tell me that you've brought good news along with you today.” He questions, pointedly and I nod my head yes, agreeing to his question. His smile widens. “Splendid, do tell me and quickly.” He orders.

I roll my eyes at his impatience.

“Sophia said it's all good to come down but she too has a surprise for us, apparently— nothing big I hope.” I tell him what his daughter had said and he seems happy, what I don't tell him though is that I heard a child at the background, crying, whether it's her child or not— I don't know and neither did I bother to ask her about it too.

His face grows dark and I back step.

“I hope you didn't tell her what exactly her surprise is. I don't want her to over think it this early. It'll take time.”

His words are of truth.

She shouldn't know, yet.

It's still too early for her.

My brother stands in his place and dust off his suit before looking back at me with his piercing blue eyes.

“Now, you're sure that King boy is out of the picture? Because I don't want to follow through if his still in her life. I made a promise to that boy and my daughter and I'll stand by that promise if they are still together.”

I wave the idea of, chuckling. “According to sources it's been three or so years, I think, and he is still in Santorini.”

Dunley nods his head, suddenly happy again at his idea.

“Just one time and then I'm gone, yes?” His voice breaks and I gulp, nodding, feeling my own heart hurt for the old man. “My little Parker will understand my reasoning. I'm sure of it, after all I am her father.” He smiles to himself.

I smile, sadly, at him.

One nagging thought in my mind.

But what if she still loves King? What would we do then?
