Sophia.

There was something different about my father's memorable place for my mother, his wife, his love and I couldn't understand what it was.

Was it because we all were here, together?

Why did it seem more warmer and not dull?

I could never understand but I liked the warmth.

Dad and I decided to spend the day near her today, so we could talk and settle our thoughts for a bit and I needed that.

To calm down.

Just a little bit.

“You should answer that,” My dad gestures down to my constant ringing phone and at this point I'm contemplating to just shut the damn thing off completely. “It could be an emergency, dear, it's been over a hundred calls since this hour.” He laughs, shaking his head.

“Excuse me,” I mumble.

I get off the grass and take a couple steps away from my father, trying to give myself some privacy.

“Percy! I a—”

“It's Lily actually.”

I go quiet, noting that I should have looked at the caller information first. “Oh, hi. Is everything okay?” I ask.

She chuckles and I picture her nodding her head. “Yeah, everything is going good. I was actually trying to call for a while now. Catherine has been trying to reach you.” She states and I hear shuffling at the back, she's probably moving around. “Said it's important.” She adds after.

I bite my lip, hard.

“She came to the café?”

“Yeah and Jake went to get medicines for Jaina.”

“What did she tell you guys?”

Lily sighs and I hear her daughter scream in the background, followed by a loud roar of laughter and I smile to myself— god, I miss that little munchkin.

“I don't know, Soph. It was like, she was being very unhelpful with the information which is understandable but she wanted your phone number, I didn't give it to her. I said i would ask you first be—” I slowly close my eyes.

I take in a deep breath, “You can give it to her. I don't know why I didn't add it to my file.” I mumble into the speaker.

“When are you guys coming back?”

“Sunday. I think.”

“Damn! I miss Charlie so fucking much.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, who would have thought right? I guess his on going banter with my two year old is getting to me.”

I laugh loudly at that, knowing full well that he probably missing bantering with that toddler, too. In fact, he probably misses fighting with everyone if I'm being honest.

“That's crazy.” I chuckle, swatting my hair out of the way and a heavy sigh falls from my parted lips as my feet move forward, gliding pass different grave sites. “Are you good though? I figure you aren't just calling because of Catherine?” I question— which has to be correct. I know.

I stop at a big grave, I think it's the second biggest one here after my mother's and I stare at the dark granite stone, slowly reading the words engraved on the granite.
