Sophia.
I chew on my lip and move off his lap, putting some well deserved distance between us before we start this conversation— a discussion we really and truly needed to have before we decided to get intimate in London.
“I think we should talk about what happened?” I mumble but it comes out as a question rather than a statement.
Good god, Sophia!
Take a breather before trying to talk again.
Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale.
I sigh and stare into his deep green orbs that hold me in place, daring me to move. “I just feel that we should get it off our chest, you know? It's obviously the big elephant in the room since it's happened and I don't want us to go on without discussing it first, we're treating it as if it hasn't happened.” I blurt and go red faced at how fast I spoke.
He nods his head in agreement and relief washes over me, I'm not quiet sure why but it does and it makes me happy.
“Would you like me to go first?” He questions and I nod.
Percy sighs and runs his fingers through his already messy hair, he glances up at the ceiling before looking back at me and flashes me his million dollar smile.
My heart skips a beat at the beautiful sight.
“I just needed him to feel pain, amante. I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose someone, someone he cared about and your picture was smiling up at me— I didn't know you were her until the first day in Santorini but I didn't care about that stupid plan anymore. I stopped it.
That day, in the kitchen, when I told you those things. I needed Luca to hear it because I knew that he wouldn't listen to my commands about the revenge plan.
I knew he would try to do it some way or another especially with that person being you and I, we were in a relationship. . . of sorts and it would be easy for him.”
He slowly states, taking his time for me to process the information and I feel my heart clench in that same uneasy feeling again, the memories of humiliation in front of my aunt and father flood my mind like a bad haunted nightmare— and I think it will be for a long, long time.
“He doesn't like being my third command and I know he wanted you. I told you, I saw it that day at the bonfire.”
He mutters and grits his teeth, “The way his eyes darken and raked your body up and down, like you were fucking his. I hated it, especially since I wanted you, I needed you.
Luca, he knew he couldn't have you once I told him that you're taken and he hates that, he hates that he can't have something or someone that he desires. And I took what he wanted that day so he didn't care to stop and think.”
I take in his words, digesting it slowly. “I am not some play thing, Percy. I understand your words. I don't understand his actions.” I confess my confusion about everything.
He sighs and nods his head in understanding.
I lean back as I watch him get off the bed and move towards the door. I immediately sit back up then— his leaving without me getting a proper understanding of things? I am shocked and utterly confused at this.
