PARIS

"Are you sure it is her room?" Kit looked around.
"Do you doubt me?" Lola frowned and laughed about him. "It's not the first time when I plan a surprise for her." she placed her bag to the bedroom. "Come, put your package here. Before she arrives," she told him and pulled him with herself to the bedroom.
"I still don't understand how the receptionist ... gave you the keys that easily." Kit told her.
"She is my best friend. And I know her manager. Without Michael, we would have not succeeded." she admitted. "Shhh," Lola warned him when she heard the door opening. It was Emilia. She was laughing so loud. No one else has a laugh like hers.
"Good night Paul and thanks for everything," she told him and gave him a hug.
"Happy Birthday darling." He kissed her face. "Are you sure you don't want to have a drink or two at the lobby?"
"No. It was a long day." Emilia smiled "Maybe next time. Maybe in London" she realized. "On Friday. I'll have a birthday party."
"Wish I could go." Paul sighed. "But I won't go to London after that. I have other plans with my wife."
"You are so adorable together." Emilia smiled "The perfect couple"
"Not always. If you ask her." Paul laughed. "Good Night Emilia." he turned to leave, and Emilia started to regret that she said no to those birthday drinks. She knew she has friends and there will be a party in London on Friday, but... spending her birthday alone. Guess it was the price of this life. She usually spent her birthday at the Thrones set, but not anymore. Not that she would mind it. After the last season, she was happy that it is over. She checked herself in the mirror. Her stylist squad outdone themselves. She looked like a french lady in that white dress. It was sophisticated and elegant, but so simple. Kit would have loved it. Not as much as he loves her lingerie but... that was a style which he likes. She kicked off her shoe and glanced at the table. Her dinner was there. She walked there and took a piece of the baguette. She was not hungry, but she promised to Kit and to herself, she'll pay more attention to her meals. She swallowed it hard, then she walked to the bedroom. She wondered if she was the one who closed the bedroom door or... probably it was cleaning service. She opened the door and turned the lights on.

"Surprise" Lola shouted with a full smile and jumped to her neck.
"God, you scare the hell out of me." Emilia giggled and she was happy that her friend was there but she needed some moments to believe it. "What are you doing here?" she asked her.
"It's your birthday. And you are not surrounded by co-stars, so I thought I make your day better," she answered in satisfaction.
"You should not have to." Emilia shook her head. "Tomorrow I'm going to leave and... it was not necessary to come here ... travel here for one night," she added. "Waste of money."
"You'll change your mind when you see my present," Lola told her and stepped out from her way. "it is in the bathroom."
"You've made a bath for me because that would be the perfect gift..." she walked to the bathroom and opened the door, and the words stuck on her throat.
"Happy Birthday Clarke" Kit was smiling at her and he was holding spring of lilies in his hand. "There were no roses in the hotel lobby." he shrugged his shoulder, but Emilia couldn't care about the flower ... less. She stepped closer and kissed him.
"See." Lola leaned to the doorway. "I've told ya." she laughed. "But before you make all her wishes come true, you have to spend some hours with me. I hope I did not travel here unnecessarily." she made a comment, and Emilia let Kit away and hugged her friend again. "I love you."

"So how long have you been planning this behind my back?" Emilia asked them. They went to the hotel bar together.
"We decided it a few days ago." Lola sighed. "I needed all my persuasiveness to convince Michael it is a good idea," she added. "Especially because I did not want to come alone."
"I am surprised he let you come." Emilia smiled at Kit.
"We promised him that we'll be careful." Kit drank into his water.
"Emilia at least you have to drink a glass of champagne with me. We are in France." Lola rolled her eyes.
"I don't think..."
"Do not worry about me." Kit placed his hand to her hand on the table, but he realized they are not in their private room. He pulled it back at the next moment. "Waiter!" He raised his hand and waved to the men at the bar counter. He walked there with a smile on his face.
"A bottle from your best champagne. And two glasses," he told him.
"Two?"
"Yes. Just two, for the two wonderful ladies." he looked at them, and he knew his eyes stopped on Emilia for too long. He couldn't help himself.
"Anything else?" The waiter looked at them.
"Another mineral water." Kit raised the empty bottle and handed it to the man. "Thanks."
"Are you sure... you don't mind it?" Emilia glanced at Kit.
"It's your birthday and your best friend traveled here from London to have a drink with you. Who am I to prevent it?" he shrugged his shoulder.
"I like him more and more." Lola laughed and patted Kit's shoulder.
