(Y/n)'s POV

I collapsed as soon as my bedroom door closed with a quiet click. The tears that I held back finally fell. The pain that I had concealed finally revealed itself. It was inevitable. It was definitely inevitable.

Of course it'd happen some day. He was better off with her anyway. A sweet, common romance drowning in the pleasures of everyday life...was far better than a life in luxurious riches surrounded by gossipers and cameramen who knew every one of your darkest secrets.

I propped myself against the bed and buried my head in my knees. A harsh headache began throbbing, only increasing the overflow of tears but thankfully adding a distraction for my emotional pain.

The pain only got worse as time went by. I held back a sob, biting my lip to keep everything in. I barely noticed the hunger, barely noticed the cold seeping through my clothes. All I could focus on was the cold in my heart.

Suddenly, a strong arm engulfed me before I found myself cradled in my brother's warmth. He didn't say anything, he didn't need to. I buried my face in his chest as he stroked my hair like he used to when I was little.

"Baka, don't keep it to yourself when you're hurting," he exclaimed softly.
"I could say the same to you."
"Do you want me to stay or can you handle the monsters hiding under your bed by yourself?"
"...idiot."

Despite saying that, he only hugged me tighter as if that'd make the pain disappear. After a while, he released me and the pain that remained was simply a dull ache. Most likely eternal but dull nonetheless.

"Gaku-nii...thank you."
"Welcome."

~The next day~

"What? I have to look after the company until father's better?!"
"Yes, that is what he told me. He told me that he'd fire you if you ruined everything, and also, no pressure," Anesagi exclaimed.
"No pressure?! I don't know the first thing about running a company!"
"Don't worry, think of it as managing an idol group. It'll only be for the time being...and besides, if your father hands the company to someone else, who knows what they'd do?"
"*sigh* Alright."
"And you don't have to manage Trigger whilst you're here. I'll take care of them so don't worry."
"Okay, I'll talk to you later."
"The work's on his desk. See you later."

She left without another word. I heaved a sigh, unsure of where to start. Picking up the first document in my hand, my eyes widened in surprise. Everything was neatly printed with clear details on what and how to do the required work.

The sudden thought of Iori popped into my mind. I quickly pushed it away and swiftly focused on the numerous tasks in front of me. Little did I know that the stress would eventually shatter me.

Iori's POV

Today we were just practicing for our upcoming concert, but I couldn't get (Y/n)'s unnervingly calm face out of my mind. Why did my heart feel so constricted? Was accepting Naomi as my girlfriend the right choice?

"Ugh, I messed up again," niisan said in exasperation.
"Let's try again," Sogo offered.
"Oh, manager, you're here," exclaimed Riku, then asked, "Is (Y/n) coming today?"

He quickly shot a glance my way but put on a casual smile as we waited for the manager's answer. She seemed oblivious to the diminishing relationship my being Naomi's boyfriend had caused with (Y/n).

"No, she won't be coming in for the time being. Her father left her in charge of Yaotome Productions. She said she'd try to get in but it's going to be hard trying to squeeze in all the other work."
"Eh?! She's running the company?!" everyone asked in unison.
"She said you guys can go visit but yeah..."

We really did...live in two different worlds. Although we were on the road to becoming top idols, she had already been at the top from the moment she was born. Ha, what a wretched reality.

I startled as someone gently shoved me from behind. Naomi's cheerful face greeted me before she leaned forward to place a kiss on my nose. A bright red blush painted my cheeks as my heart thumped ferociously. But not...like the way it did...when I was with (Y/n).

"Are you guys practising?" she asked.
"Yeah, you wanna watch?" Yamato replied.
"Yes please."

She offered a small wink and an encouraging smile my way before going to take a seat near the back. Tsumugi followed, and the two began talking in hushed whispers.

(Y/n)'s POV

"Yes, that'll be great. Trigger'll be happy to know that we have the opportunity to work in such a big venue."
"You're very welcome, young president. I'll talk to you later."
"Alright, thank you. Bye."

I immediately got to work typing away at the computer and answered the occasional phone-call from the staff and signed off small deliveries. There was a sudden knock on the door as I answered with a simple 'come in'.

Gaku-nii grinned before coming over and leaning against the desk. I glanced up and smiled before going back to work. He leaned over and looked at the computer screen.

"A plan for our next concert?" he asked.
"Yeah, I've already secured a venue."
"I see...come with me for lunch."
"Is that all you came here to say?"
"Do I need more of a reason to come see you?"
"*smiles* I guess not. What about Tenn and Ryuu?"
"They're waiting outside."
"Okay, I'll-"

I shot him an apologetic look as the phone rang. The staff's voice almost burst my eardrum as she hurriedly greeted me before getting down to business.

"The major sponsor for Trigger's concert pulled out last minute. We're struggling to find someone else. We thought-"
"Alright, leave it to me."

Gaku-nii raised an eyebrow. I simply shook my head.

"You guys go on ahead. It looks like I have more work to do."
"Geez, that old man better recover quickly."
"If only...but the human body only heals so slowly."
"I'll bring you something."

The door closed as he left the office. Now, time to call a certain man who didn't trust the company in the hands of an inexperienced teenage girl.
