(Y/n)'s POV

I yawned tiredly on the way home with Trigger. Gaku-nii sighed before passing me the drink in his hands. I gratefully let the cool beverage run down my throat, as it woke me up with a jog. I turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow.

"Beer? Really? I'm still underage."
"Pfft, as if that bothered you the first time," he replied carelessly.
"Not even I can imagine myself drinking more than you can," Tenn commented.
"Hey, that was only a one time thing."
"Where did you get such a high alcohol tolerance?" Ryuu asked no one in particular.

I lifted the bottle to my lips and left not a single drop. Gaku-nii took the beer from my hands almost too quickly as if afraid I'd drink it all. A smirk tugged at my lips as he frowned in disappointment and chucked the bottle in the bin.

Although the beer helped clear the fog clouding my mind, I found myself yearning for a little more, wanting...needing the feeling of drunk indifference. Ryuu pressed his can into my hands and offered a small smile.

I took a sip, feeling Tenn slip his hand over mine. The cool breeze caressed my face, combing its fingers through my hair. I took a deep breath, grateful for the cold.

"That's..." Gaku-nii trailed off.

We followed his gaze, my steps almost faltering. I felt my grip tighten on Tenn's hand as I willed myself to steer my eyes away...away from Iori and Naomi smiling happily on a night walk by themselves. In their hands was an ice-cream.

I felt my feet walking faster as I hurried to avoid them. Too late. Naomi called out to me, happily waving her hand. A natural smile appeared on my face as I turned to face her radiating self.

"I haven't seen you in ages! I heard that you're the temporary president of Yaotome Productions," she exclaimed.
"Yeah, definitely not an easy job."
"*laughs* I can tell. Is that beer?"

I gave her a smirk in reply. She let out a sigh.

"There's no controlling you, is there? Just make sure nobody sees."
"Even if people do see, she can just act her way out of it. While you're at it, why don't you make yourself seem like a crazy old lady?" Gaku-nii teased.
"Oh, if it'll embarrass you, it'll be my pleasure."
"Hmm, that's if your skills are good enough."
"Alright, stop bickering," said Ryuu.

Naomi let out a soft laugh. Iori's eyes lingered on her cheerful face as I felt my heart turn to stone. He couldn't, shouldn't do this to me. I didn't love him. I had to get over it. She was my friend!

I finished the beer in one gulp, feeling his sharp eyes on me. Flashing a nonchalant smile, I bid them farewell before walking away, with Tenn keeping close by. His arm moved to wrap around my shoulders as I eyed him.

"Sshh, keep walking," he whispered.

To others, it would've looked as if we were lovers whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears. Hmm, it wouldn't work...but I was grateful for Tenn's attempt to make him jealous. I smiled despite willing myself to keep the emotions under control.

Iori's gaze seared hot against my back until we disappeared from view. I clenched my fists to keep myself from looking back and noting the expression on his face.

Iori's POV

~The next day~

"You can't all be busy-"
"We are. Now hurry up and take this to (Y/n). I told her I'd make her lunch," niisan exclaimed.
"Yeah Iori, why don't you hurry up and take it to her?" Riku asked, a vicious smirk on his face.
"You guys have to shoot a new scene in the afternoon so please make it back by one," said our manager.
"*sigh* Okay, I'll get going then."

I shut the door and reluctantly headed to the bus stop. My stomach seemed to be made of iron as I dragged myself to an empty seat. (Y/n) plagued my every thought, her sweet laughter and her bright eyes...

Clenching a fist, I watched as the scenery blew past. With every turn, my mind panicked. As the bus inched closer to my stop, I felt sweat gather on my forehead.

Taking a deep breath, I got off and walked into Yaotome Productions. The staff didn't even pay me any attention as I made my way to the elevator. Did (Y/n) get us clearance to come and go as we please?

I heard her voice through the door. Was she with someone? I opened the door before lifting my gaze to meet hers. She gestured for me to come inside but she was talking to someone on the phone.

Her eyes were harshly cold, almost cruel. Her posture mimicked that of a professionally indifferent CEO, her voice a blade ready to cut through flesh. I stood by the door, unable to move as I watched her lethal moves.

"Mr Junichiro, I assure you, your valuable contribution to Trigger's upcoming concert will greatly improve the reputation of your company," she persuaded with a honeyed voice.

The man's voice filtered through the company phone speaker as she twirled a pen in her fingers.

"Oh? There are other people who would greatly benefit from my support. What makes Trigger so unique?"
"Hmm, are you really going to test me like that?"

All pretences were dropped. I held my breath.

"You're just an inexperienced girl taking over while papa is away. How can I trust everything in your hands?"
"Sir, my papa informed me of a particular secret. I take it your unwillingness to corporate with Yaotome Productions is your way of agreeing to the release of said secret and related evidence?"
"You sly fox! You're just a teenager!"
"*smirks* A teenager, yes. But also a businesswoman. My papa raised me well."

She cocked her head to the side, a playful grin adorning her face. Her eyes met mine for the briefest of moments. In that flicker of time, I felt the world freeze around us. I...was afraid yet I also longed...to love her.
