"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret." -Ambrose Bierce
~
When Taehyung woke up the next morning, the first thing he did was check his phone. He usually isn't attached to it like it's glued to him, but he needed to see if Jungkook had ever answered him. And to his disappointment, the younger male didn't even see the message.
Disheartedly, Taehyung got ready for work, throwing on a simple pair of joggers and a t-shirt for his dance practice before leaving his house. Getting into his car, he thinks about calling Jungkook to see if he wanted a ride. Deciding not to, figuring if Jungkook wanted to talk he would have answered his texts.
Taehyung drove to Jinhit, the only sound coming from the engine and his occasional sighs. Despite his better judgement, he hoped Jungkook was there so the two could talk.
Walking into the building he runs into Hoseok, who just smiles at him and continues to the dance studio. After both arrive they see Jin, who by the way, is never in the studio, frowning and looking deep in thought.
"Jungkook won't be able to come to work for a few days." he stated, blankly.
"Why not?" Hoseok asked, all traces of a smile gone as he walked towards Jin, concern and confusion written all over his, usually smiley, face.
"All he said is that he had a family emergency. Someone's in the hospital. He was nearly in tears when he asked for a few days off. I didn't deny him the time. He should be back in three days at most." Jin explained quickly.
Taehyung now felt concern bubble inside of him. Was this why Jungkook hadn't answered him? Why didn't Jungkook tell him?
"Alright." Hoseok said, snapping Taehyung out of his thoughts as Momo and Mark entered the studio.
Taehyung tilted his head in confusion and slight annoyance. Isn't he even a little bit concerned?
Jin quickly walked out of the room sighing.
"Stretch and I have an announcement once everyone is here." Hoseok said blandly, whipping his hand down his face.
Mark and Mina were confused at the actions, but obliged silently, not bothering to try to figure out what was going on. They shot Taehyung a confused look, Taehyung waving them off and silently doing what Hoseok had just instructed them to do.
Luckily, everyone arrived early that day, so five minutes before their practice was actually due to start, Hoseok was able to give his announcement.
"Listen, you guys are to be respectful to me and whoever is teaching you, or your superior." Hoseok stated with a blank face. "Jungkook is a superior, I know you guys don't like him but you have to deal with that. But speaking of Jungkook, he won't be present for a few days due to personal issues."
"What happened?" Momo asked, seeming genuinely concerned, unlike the rest.
"That's Jungkook's business. If he wishes to tell any of you when he is back, then he will. I am not going to answer any questions you have on the matter, so don't ask. Now all of you stand up and get to your first positions for Winter Bear. I'll take Jungkook's spot until he returns so it doesn't mess you up."
The group stood up, Hoseok adjusting the watch on his wrist before joining them in their positions.
"Someone's snappy." Jihoon mumbled to himself.
"I heard that, Jihoon. And if you have anything else you want to say I recommended you say it now. If you speak again you're out of practice today, got it?"
"Yes." Jihoon mumbled, looking at the floor and silently waiting for the music to start.
"I guess someone else is rude." Taehyung said loudly enough for Jihoon and Hoseok to hear.
"Taehyung, same goes for you. I recommend you don't try it today." Hoseok warned
"What?! I was talking about Jihoon!!" Taehyung said, pouting.
"I couldn't care less! If one more person utters a single word this practice without being told to, they are kicked out!" Hoseok exclaimed.
Momo nervously raised her hand, signifying she wanted to speak
"What?" Hoseok asked bitterly.
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you so mad today?" she asked quietly
"Because, I have my right to be in any mood I wish." he replied, calmly.
"But why are you so mad today? You're never mad."
"Because, I'm down a dancer and everyone else is trying to piss me off! Now shut up and get into your position! Okay!?" Hoseok demanded in a low tone, but loud enough for staff outside the room to hear.
Everyone got quiet and quickly got into their positions. Hoseok started the music from his watch and started to dance with everyone else. They did that one dance over and over again until almost everyone was near exhaustion. After they finally finished Hoseok told them to get their stuff and sit in the middle of the floor.
"I am your choreographer. It's as simple as that. I know we always joke and nothing ever seems serious with me, but I am a superior. You need to respect and listen to me, which none of you do. The only people who have ever truly done that are Jimin and Jungkook. All of you need to learn from them. Whatever I do, it is in your best interest. So do as I say for you to do. I couldn't care less if I hurt your feelings because it's not my job to baby you and treat you as I am your therapist. My job is to be your choreographer. I take that job very seriously and I need all of you to listen when I tell you to do things. So if I tell you to shut up and worry about your damn self you will do so, or I will find a new dancer for your spot," Hoseok said firmly. He stood in front of everyone for a few moments before walking out of the room, stopping at the door. "Dismissed."
'Damn...' Taehyung thought, getting up and going to his locker to retrieve his car. As he was leaving the studio, he heard Jihoon starting to speak.
"I don't know who pissed in his cheerios but he's being a bitch today." he muttered, loud enough that everyone in the room could hear him loud and clear. Taehyung heard a bunch of scoffs come out of everyone else's mouth.
"Watch your tongue dipshit. Don't get on my nerves too." Momo snapped, walking out the room, slamming the door behind her.
"What the hell did I do? Hoseok is being a bitch, everyone can literally-"
"I would watch out because that bitch," Taehyung started, making sure to put emphasis on the word bitch, "can fire you with a snap of his fingers and make sure the only place that will ever hire you is McDonalds."
"Assholes." he mumbled under his breath.
As he walked out of the building he decided he would pick up some coffee and a sandwich before heading home. He went to his favorite sandwich shop and quickly dug out a mask, sunglasses and cap from the backseat of his car. He went inside and ordered a turkey sandwich with provolone cheese, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. After receiving it, he paid and left to starbucks.
At starbucks he ordered a grande iced americano. He paid and waited for his drink like everyone else, only to be noticed, even with his mask, sunglasses, and hat.
"Oh my god. That's V." some girl whispered to another, both squealing then walking up to him.
"Hey ladies, I would appreciate it if you would calm down and I'll sign your cups for you."
Taehyung pleaded. Both nodded, the girl that spoke fishing a sharpie out of her mini bookbag and handing it to Taehyung
He signed both cups and wished both of them a good day while smiling at them, only for his drink to be called. He got it from the counter and hurried out to his car to enjoy his lunch.
He drove to his building and parked in the garage sighing and getting his sandwich and coffee taking them to the elevator, entering his pin before the elevator started moving.
He sighed as he entered his penthouse, thinking about how much easier life would be for him if he wasn't an idol. But, if he wasn't an idol he wouldn't have had the opportunities he has had. If he wasn't an idol, he wouldn't have met Jungkook.
He sighed, taking a bite of his sandwich.»»——⍟——««
